Pretty much any combination of these would get us there next year. This is probably how I'd rank these optimistic way-too-early predictions. This is driveable for us and predictably good every year. Really bummed about missing this year.
The only way Chance would headline is if he puts out another quality album and even then his ego is probably too high to play anything other than Lolla.
boygenius I’m conflicted on because I feel like come July 2024 they would want an act where 2/3 members haven’t played in the past three years, but this is also the festival that booked Big Thief again two years after they played so maybe it’s a moot thought.
Clairo sold out two shows at the Riv last year (one show there selling well seems to be the benchmark to subheadline or headline, see The Smile, Alvvays, Weyes Blood, Big Thief) but it would have to be on a new album because the Sling era is over.
I could see them possibly bringing back Caroline Polachek to headline as her show at The Riv this year sold out with resale being insanely high.
On a similar note, Faye Webster was supposed to play The Vic in October but the show sold out so quickly they moved it to The Riv where it again sold out instantly, so perhaps they bring her back in a bigger time slot?
Vampire Weekend would be a cool headliner. Are they working on a new album? If so I could see Pitchfork nabbing them next year.
Considering this next year - been eyeing Chicago as a place to potentially move to before I turn 30, but haven't been since I was a teenager. So I'd like to visit as an adult and build in a festival

I saw Faye Webster at The Riv tonight, and man has she blown the fuck up since Pitchfork booked her in 2021. The show was originally at The Vic but they upgraded the venue because it sold out so fast and then the show resold out in seconds with the venue upgrade. She’s supposedly releasing a new album next year and I could see her top 3 on a day for sure.
