Missing Mother's Day to go see Joanna Newsom in Utah but if they really got both Fiona and Joanna on my mom's birthday I guess I'll just have to be a good son next year
Look if I had to endure Bon Iver and Big Thief headlining this thing everyone else can tolerate hearing me scream “Stuck Between Stations” from half a mile away.

I... I.. I thought the Bon Iver and Big Thief headlining sets were good
So hypothetically it’s not good to stay closer to the fest? It’s better on the north side?
I'm not sure what the airbnb situation is right near the fest, but West Loop is just a few stops from the fest on the green-pink line and there's a ton of good restaurants in that neighborhood.

Have stayed walking distance to the fest the 3 years I've been which was really nice. Was able to find airbnbs that weren't too bad. Twice in Ukrainian Village and once in Little Italy.

Haven't gone since 2015, but I stayed walking distance to the park that year and had no issues. Had a blast. Have wanted to come back ever since but Panorama, COVID, Primavera, and grad school have gotten in the way. Will probably be back next year

I stayed in Pilton one year just a couple blocks from the Pink line and one year right off the Green just west of United Center and it was perfectly fine. If youre staying in West Loop youll be surrounded by all the gentrification aka youll feel safe. Ukranian Village would also be a good option since you can still catch the bus to the fest from there. Youre most likely confusing it with Douglass though.
No Ratboys this year, saw the lead singer Julia perform at Sleeping Village and asked her if they’re playing this year. They’ll be on the West Coast then opening for a bigger band which is being announced Tuesday with a Salt Shed date in May.
