Count me in for this year! It'll be my first festival since 2019 and will count as my 12th time attending! I goddamn love this fest and it'll be an absolute joy to be back. Plus, it'll be my partner's first festival ever. Woo boy!

Yay. Even more Inforooers I wanna put faces to names with.
Congratulations to Pitchfork on being the 8th most searched festival in the US!
I’m a fan of this festival. It has some drawbacks like needing more food vendors but it’s A+ in my book. It’s one of (if not the) easiest festivals to get around which is nice if you split sets. There’s shade if you need ( but the last time I went was before PLUS so maybe not anymore?). The crowd is only second to Riot Fest as some of the nicest people I’ve ever met.
If these assholes would just sponsor up with 3 Floyds so I can drink Gumballhead all day, I’d take up permanent residence every year.
The only question will be who goes against each other at 5:20 each day.
Curious to see how Saturday will play out. That’ll be the roughest day for me personally. Even if I end up with conflicts the other days, it’ll be an easy decision for most.
This routing makes me wonder if Pitchfork seriously tried to book Keef:
I’m not keeping up but isn’t he booked for another Chicago burb festival?
He is, it’s just interesting he has Midwest dates around that time. I didn’t mean he’s going to be a late add or anything, just if they considered it at any point.

Oh, I got you. I don’t think I’ve ever seen late adds to this festival unless there’s a cancellation. It is interesting.
Would the lineup look better if he was a headliner?

Probably not lol, but I think it'd certainly be different (if he replaced, say, Black Pumas or something, none of the top lines on any of the days make any sense to support him, as interesting as a Chief Keef/CRJ/Jessie Ware day would be).

When they used to announce in phases you had bands being added in May if you want to call that "late". Assuming the schedule is tomorrow.
One of the more painful tours that was like this was Kraftwerk in 2020 when they literally were in Chicago on the Monday after Pitchfork.

Oh yeah, those I remember. It was always funny to me because the initial was “that’s nice but nothing to travel for” and the second wave always got me.
Not saying BP was a backup plan but it was Keef/Jamie/Alanis I’d probably be happier with the headliner situation.

I look at it as a way to get home sooner if the headliner is whatever.

Totally fair. I’m not opposed to that but I’m afraid most of the festival will feel that way, too. I’m trying to figure out which is worse: Staying for the Pumas and wandering around or get cuddly with people trying to get on the Green line.
I also need a way to break the inevitable Rosali / ML Burch and Model/Actriz / Nala Sinephro overlap. Hoping those after shows hit and I’ll be able to fix those if it happens.

Considering the crowd response to Gecs yesterday vs Jai Paul on Friday at Kilby Block Party you do have that potential for sure. It was smart to put Gecs Friday to make sure the kids show up one way or another. I usually use the chance of a meh headliner to do some shopping if its Friday so then its out of the way.

Also worth noting that Weekend Nachos is playing a festival up the street at Cobra Lounge. While I get they’re not most of this boards cup of tea, they were great and bummed I haven’t been able to make a reunion show yet.
Not willing to commit yet but keeping that in my back pocket just in case.
