Before I forget while I’m out running errands, I booked a room with an extra bed. If you’re on the fence but lack of accommodations is keeping you back, feel free to ask. I’m solo this trip and will want hangs all weekend long.

i dont need the bed for sleeps but will come around to hang out and jump on the extra bed like the child i am inside
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Just you wait. I’ll be dragging your ass to Kuma’s for vegan and gluten free metal burgers that weekend.
with all due respect to Mr and Missus Kuma, charging over $20 for a veggie burger feels like highway robbery especially since id have to go bunless (website connotes that their GF bun isnt vegan).
but if anyone wants to join me at Liberation Kitchen, Handlebar, or Veggie House for a brunchy, lmk (there are just so many veg restaurants in the city, i feel like im gonna want to check multiple of them out!)

You’re paying for the experience. That and watching me air guitar to Sleep’s Dragonaut when it comes on the stereo.

It’s a standard burger joint that is metal themed. I enjoyed it.
Burgers tend to be ridiculous (though probably not veggie options). Plus horror movies on the tv screens, large beer list, close proximity to the festival.
Chicago Diner and Quesadilla La Reina del Sur are my favorite vegan restaurants in the city though.

I’m an omnivore and everything I’ve had at handlebar has been a huge slam dunk, highly highly recommend

It was a half joke. I say that about everyone saying they don’t take reservations. I remember Handlebar being small so I dunno. Like I said, I’m really cool with whatever.

Today I found out an old housemate is playing in the reformed Bratmobile. While I loved the fact it was all female, I’ve never been so proud of this guy.

Bet your ass I texted him for photo ops 😂
soooo youre getting us backstage for their set?
(they'll prob conflict with Jessie or CRJ though, in which case I shan't be there)

After I’ve had some time to set and think without being caught up in the moment, I realized this may be my favorite US festival lineup. I knowthat there’s still more to come but they nailed this one, for me personally.
While the headliners don’t really move the needle for me, the undercard is a serious feat of wonder. Saturday is obviously the meat and potato day but Friday and Sunday are no slouches either. About the only style of music it’s missing is metal but most festivals are moving past that these days. I’ll just be excited for the jazz and weird they’ve booked instead.
Top 10: Unwound Bratmobile Model/Actriz Nala Sinephro Jai Paul Kara Jackson billy woods & Kenny Segal Les Savy Fav Sudan Archives Life Guard
There’s a ton that should be on here like CRJ & Jessie but those conflicts are gonna be brutal. I just saw Wednesday and Hotline TNT, too.

I double checked and my initial suspicion was correct: the last time they booked a metal band for this was 2014 lmao. (it was Deafheaven.)
And they had em in 2020 til covid. Maybe next album they come back. Still would be nice go have a couple of heavier acts on there. This is why we need them to book 45 acts and the earlier slot on Blue can be used for that kinda thing
