Does it? It's $700 and unless I misread booze is not included.
From the website:
“ **Alcoholic beverages are only available to 21+ ticket holders and limited to 6 per person per day. No discounts or refunds will be issued if ticket buyers are not 21+.”
I'm trying to remember how much I paid for a drink last year in GA but I want say it was $10 or $11? So that's $200 for three days. Regular admission is like $200ish so the extra $300 is for the front row viewing. I guess It's not terrible compared to VIP at other fests. I'm just more annoyed because Pitchfork was one of the few festivals that had resisted having these massive VIP areas. Oh well.
The real question is who did they book to justify viewing areas
I remember reading an article that Conde Nast had been pushing for VIP areas for a while. It probably has more to do with that than any artists they booked.

But whats gonna happen when you got 50 people in that area and everyone else is just regular ga. Still have to have somebody to make people spring for it.
Those two story viewing areas directly in front of green and red are definitely massively concerning.
I'm so goddamn curious what this lineup will end up looking like. My expectations are low, but if it lives down to even those I think Thing Fest may be my move for heading back to a fest for the first time in a 5 years.
Seems like public opinion has kinda been turning on St. Vincent but I really enjoyed that 21 headlining set!
I actually thought that set was incredible, although I saw pretty much the same set again at a fest the next year (albeit not headlining) and thought it definitely didn't have the same oomph the second time around

Well the core fanbase is happy jack antonoff isnt involved with the new album. She is always gonna be in a weird spot anyway. Cool for casuals but sometimes not cool for the ones in the know. Saw her 3 times on the last album cycle and enjoyed it.
I do wonder if the VIP areas are less about making money and more about how they want to get clout by stacking them with buzzy social media celebs for GQ virality.

Daddy’s Home was a great album, Antonoff’s best contribution to the pop landscape since NFR!
That's a lot of VIP areas near the Green and Red stage. Doesn't look great!
Is the one in the middle just an upper deck on top of the soundboard?
Thats what theyre making it sound like. Another thing is that they are moving the stages a little bit so that the bleachers have a proper view instead of being more parallel as in previous years.

Baltimore arena is teasing a Hans Zimmer announcement for tomorrow. Would he make sense?
EDIT: Nvm. It looks like the UC is teasing an announcement as well so he's probably out
I think if they were looking at that type of act it would be Danny Elfman. Mix of movie score and oingo boingo songs would go down better with a crowd.
