If Big Thief headlined off of a Riviera Theatre sell out then Carly wouldn’t take a lower billing after playing higher spots (at Lolla and Aragon) here. It’s definitely the closest thing we’ve seen to a real lineup I feel but the Carly placement plus Black Pumas makes me suspicious. The undercard screams Pitchfork but then you look up and see Black Pumas (and also Alanis but that’s I think a little less strange) and it just doesn’t seem right.
A rebuttal: CRJ’s agent also generally appears to be terrible at getting her high up on festival posters (see also hers vs Jamie’s placement at Coachella 2022).
it would make much more sense to me if all the top headliners were fake and the rest of it is real, shifting everything up . but I doubt that's the case...

If it's real, it definitely doesn't feel like a fest to drop a bunch of cash to travel for ... at least for me, anyway.
Friday would just be Gecs, Billy Woods and Doss; Saturday would be Jamie, Carly, Ware, Unwound, Water, Feeble and Hotline and Sunday is just Mannequin and Model. Oof.
They probably wanted Postal Service / Death Cab but Ben is still bitter about Pitchfork's treatment of them in the early aughts and they had to default to the puma.
My biggest issue with that is that Jeff Rosenstock is doing the salt shed in April but also Black Duck is the kind of random ass Chicago band this festival would book. Hmm.

I do! But there’s a difference between Tortoise and “Tortoise side project that performs more infrequently than Jeff Parker does” lol
