lots on there i really dont need to see popping up again but whatever.
i do fully expect Brittany Howard to play, probably pre-headlining
also, i wonder if this could be a year for a Wilco return? it's been a while.
Definitely rooting for a Brittany set, I agree that it feels realistic. I’d also like to see Allison Russell too. Wow, didn’t realize it’s been 7 years already, on that note, Fleet Foxes? Maybe at this point, they’ll wait until a new album is out
Upcoming Shows: August 7: Green Day/Smashing Pumpkins/Rancid/The Linda Lindas August 30: Waxahatchee/Snail Mail/Tim Heidecker September 17: Pearl Jam/Glen Hansard September 24: Idles/English Teacher
i know Mavis Staples is an icon and all but i feel like they've done that routine before.
to be honest, i kinda had hopes that after 2022 they'd retire the jam/collab headliner set for a while.
I agree and I’m a Mavis fan. I think the last jam set I really enjoyed was the Dylan celebration on Sunday 2015 I think.
I was pleasantly surprised with how last year went in that regard.
Not even Joni Jam?!
Jam sets are hit or miss. I like them when they’re more of a revue of sorts where a band plays a song or two of their own then there’s a cover song to cap it off, then the next guest joins, etc. But some of the unrehearsed sing-along cover sets don’t quite reach headliner excitement levels.
I will say that Chris Thile & Jon Batiste duet still lives in my mind rent free - that was phenomenal. And I loved how it was anchored by the Dap Kings. Having a good band anchor the jam can do wonders as well.

True! And actually I loved Paul Simon too. I take it back , the jams are great. I think I just got tired of the expectation that something amazing would happen. Spoiled it guess!!
