Anyways, guess I’ll float this possibility now that it’s “sold out”
Big Dave Matthews Band fan. Every year since 2015 they usually play in West Palm Beach at the end of July. Their schedule is very similar year in and year out.
This year they are wide open at the end of July. Playing in Camden on 7/20. With that being said, Dave and Tim usually play a show in Canendaugua NY in July. Would love to see a Dave and Tim appearance this year!

I had zero success on the app, I had nothing else open on my phone and at 1 it froze. By the time it refreshed it was sold out. Pretty bummed but I jumped on the waitlist at 1:01 for a two day pass, so here’s to hoping..
So we have been going to NFF since 2010. We have a core group of 12 or so and have met so many regulars at the fort. Many of our crew wear the lobster gear at the fort. The extended group (around 30 people) have a text thread. EVERYONE got shut out. All 30 of us The buy tickets option didnt even appear for most of us.
Sad day. Feels like the dice system has been botted I guess we are Newport Jazz people now
Here is the issue with the waitlist. Traveling to Newport, RI and securing accommodation's is expensive. AND you need to do it ASAP for NFF Deposits, bike rentals, plane tickets…. And we didnt mind paying it because we loved the trip. But none of that is happening on the waitlist, which doesnt really open up until the week of the festival.
I get they want to limit after market tickets, but the fact dice gives you no real idea on whether or not you have a chance on the waitlist makes it impossible to book anything

For sure, the only option I see, is getting accommodations that you can refund. We did this 2 weeks ago. If we failed today, we had until mid July to refund with no consequences.

its not that complicated - book yourself a weekend, try for tickets, and even if you don't land them you get a nice little beach time

also who the hell is flying for this festival
I flew to it. That’s also why I have only been once. They just announced cheap flights from here to there, so we may get to do it again soon.

My husband/then-boyfriend and I have been flying in from Virginia since 2015. After seeing Roger Waters in the rain, James Taylor surprise, and Jose Gonzalez in the tunnels, we were forever hooked. The only year we’ve missed was 2021 for the birth of our daughter. Lucky for us, flights on Southwest are cheap and have free cancellation. Hopefully we get some waitlist magic again this year!

It was a good run Newport
I think the person who got me to start going is a very outer circle extension of your lobster group! I have to admit I don’t know anyone’s names but have spent some time at y’all’s blanket dancing with folks on the left side of the quad in years past.

I’ve been going to the fest since 2014 and moved to Colorado in 2019. It’s a combo trip home, to the Cape, and to the festival. Worth every penny!

Same for me! Even though I moved away, I couldn’t quit! Been a member since its inception so tickets have never been a problem. It’s definitely tough out there!
