I don't recall that building ever being used for anything during the festival.
Actually it’s not the visitors center. It’s to the left of the visitors center.
The building near the hill where the Harbor Stage is.
There was one year that they left the steps and balcony of this building open to festival goers. Not only was it a fantastic view and cool breeze, it was a great way to get out of the crowds and still see and hear a solid Harbor Stage set. Sad it’s no longer a thing (but completely understandable).
Whose bright idea was it to pair TBA with the same time slot as Guster and Erin Mat and Paul? It’s going to be a mad house regardless of whether or not it’s Kahan.
The opening acts at the foundation are much stronger this year. Chocolate Genius, Palmyra and Craigie/Polz. 3 of them are playing their own sets already. Gives a good reason for arriving at 10:00.

One would think if it would have been a big enough act they’d have swapped Guster with TBA.
I wonder if it might be Mt. Joy who can’t announce until after they open for Noah in Boston.

Do you know how For Pete’s Sake sets work? I’ve never been.
I have a funny feeling that Gill and Dave set is not gonna be their music…probably another tribute/collab set…
If so that’s gonna be massively disappointing.
I feel like it has to be their set. It seems weird for them to announce Newport as one of their first shows back, schedule a few warm up gigs ahead of it, and then do some sort of unannounced covers set.
That said, I’m expecting we’ll see some guests and maybe some covers along the way. But that’s folk music in general.
The schedule was pretty kind to me. I expected the worst but it’s much closer to best possible case for me. My only real conflicts are Petey and Muna (but if Petey is solo/acoustic that answers that for me) and the final slots on each stage on Sunday.
I’m going to guess TBA is not Noah. Not only would that be a cluster**** (unless it truly is kept quiet and unannounced), but only 45 minutes would be disappointing as well. Wonder if that may be a Joan Baez set? That said, knowing Newport’s love for surprises, if it’s truly kept quiet it will be a madhouse at that stage at the time with whispers of Dylan, Young, James Taylor, etc.
It’s a TBA though. Not unannounced. So it’ll be known.
It’s possible, but what’s confusing about this is they took off “more acts to be announced” from the artist page at 17 acts. It would be weird to announce the 18th act day of the fest rather than just let it be a surprise.
People just can’t except Gill and Dave headlining and playing their own music lol.
It’s my number one of the weekend and I’m hoping it’s their music. And not a red herring for something else
That’s exactly what I want. Was that not clear?
I guess I’m curious what makes you think it’s not their music. I took it as “if they’re headlining it must be a cover for something else” my apologies for an incorrect inference

I think that because that’s how they used them last time for the Dylan set.

We could just be overanalyzing it. Distinction without a difference and whatnot.

I want Gil and Dave tunes in 2 weeks.
Oh weird I thought it was labeled “65 revisited” or something like that. Didn’t realize it was booked as Dave and Gillian. I didn’t go and my memory is failing me

Monsters of Folk fits fine in a 3:00 quad set right?…..right?
If they were to pull together all the Monsters of Folk peeps then that's going to headline the fest IMO. Would be so pissed if it was an unannounced afternoon set haha

Sure, but what about my brain convincing me that they already had Hozier in the can and didn’t want to create bad blood, so the MOF dudes were humble enough to accept a 3:00 Quad set
