The IDF doesn't have the experience/training or intelligence in place to do anything against Hamas in Gaza. They would be walking into a slaughter. The public perception inside Israel would turn quickly. Would be a terrible decision. It's likely exactly what Hamas would like for them to do.
FDR and Lincoln? Greatest of our lifetimes is an exceptionally low bar.
lmao so u think that Biden should be judged due to what he is doing right now against palestine but FDR helping create Israel and doing a mass removal of arab people from their homeland was.... good?
So Blinken reportedly told the Qatari PM to tone down the coverage by Al Jazeera. Now today….
I’m sure it was a military target.
Here's video of his massacred family and him clutching the corpse of his little daughter. It's deeply unpleasant to imbibe things like this but the intentional butchering of Gazans can start to feel mollified when only reported as stats, as impersonal air raids, as anything other than the unfolding, unrepentant, near-gleeful genocide it is.
I'm working insane hours atm so mostly keep up through podcasts/twitter (and articles linked from there) but Al Jazeera has a live news feed for free on their site. Later at night they play relevant specials and docs from the past.

Although the United States supported the Balfour Declaration of 1917, which favored the establishment of a Jewish national home in Palestine, President Franklin D. Roosevelt had assured the Arabs in 1945 that the United States would not intervene without consulting both the Jews and the Arabs in that region.

Soon after President Truman took office, he appointed several experts to study the Palestinian issue. In the summer of 1946, Truman established a special cabinet committee under the chairmanship of Dr. Henry F. Grady, an Assistant Secretary of State, who entered into negotiations with a parallel British committee to discuss the future of Palestine. In May 1946, Truman announced his approval of a recommendation to admit 100,000 displaced persons into Palestine and in October publicly declared his support for the creation of a Jewish state. Throughout 1947, the United Nations Special Commission on Palestine examined the Palestinian question and recommended the partition of Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state.
