I really like the headliners but it seems top heavy. Like Foster The People should not be a subheadliner in 2024 lmao.
i think it's more than worthy tbh. new album on the way, they've barely done any shows since 2018, the demand is definitely there for them to be in that spot.
Also once again they crushed it in the "country music I thought only I cared about" category. The Droptines, Tyler Halverson, Braxton Keith, Emily Nenni, Katie Pruitt, sick as hell to see all of them on here.

To be fair, they are the 12th act on the poster so I wouldn’t call them a sub. Plus, I agree with andrew that their placement is valid for the reasons he outlined.
I’d say it’s well deserved. They got the home state bump. Crowd is going to go nuts when Leon Bridges joins them for Texas Sun.
This will indeed be awesome. So happy for the Texas kids, saw them both when they were local upstarts way back in 2016.
But part of that makes me on the fence. Seen them several times, seen Tyler and Pretty Lights multiple times.
Dua is a huge get and probably a good show, but the excitement ain't there. Woulda rather had Stevie or Stefani, but that's the Old in me
Haven't caught either of Stapleton or Sturgill, it'd be cool to cross them both off at the same place.
So a solid overall group of headliners I agree, but unfortunately my feelings from earlier came true. Nothing that makes me jump at the $400 price tag (GraceJones a San Fran exclusive 😭 )
Oh yeah and I am kinda stunned still no Post Malone. But they did just fine without him.

Undercard acts I'm stoked for: JUNGLE, Dom Dolla, Norah Jones, Teddy, Benson Boone, Dominic Fike, The Maria's, JEEZY!, Cannons, Vince Staples, Santigold, The Beaches, Orville Peck, BAKAR!, Grand Funk Railroad!, Glass Beams, Kevin Abstract.
Seen Foster 4 times, Renee Rapp meh, maybe Caam, San Holo, Catfish and the bottlemen, geese, remi wolf, elderbrook
All the headliners excite me except Blink whom I've never seen so win-win. Fantastic days of music ahead for my tastes. 30+ acts I would like to see in 3 days? It'll be fun. Choices are a good thing!
Can this festival please just commit to two different posters at this point? Reading this shit is exhausting. The poster is blue with pink accents, make that the W1 poster, and make a W2 poster with the same exact scheme just reverse the colors or something.

Yeah it’s an easy ass fix most big festivals with two weekends do not sure why they haven’t done this.
Tired of zooming in looking for crumbs of what is what on first and second weekends lol
the biggest addition i can think of in recent memory is death cab in 22(?) and they were a sub. they won’t add another headliner or anything crazy but it’s usually a solid helping of good undercard stuff.

Before that, I recall them adding Phoenix out of the blue.

think that was when bino dropped out and they grabbed them to fill in one of the empty slots. i remember lil wayne being added that year too.
Dua, Sturgill & Pretty Lights are genuinely tremendous gets
I don’t really get it. My daughter was explaining to me at dinner that she’s become a really good performer compared to years past. But I don’t go see a headliner because they can dance or because their choreography improved. It’s 99% of the time going to be for the music. I really don’t like dance pop as it rarely challenges my head or holds any appeal. And I never really liked anything I heard by her over the years. It’s okay for those who want to sing along to hits they like. But definitely not for me. Guess it’s a shot for ACL to bring in some new generations (and types) of fans so that’s probably smart like when Billie was there in 2018.

Valid points all around. I wish it was always purely about the music but alas, we all know these things are just marketing exercises at the end of the day.
But after ACL has rolled out the unoriginal, predictable headliners last year and fucking RHCP/Pink/Chicks in '22 (which oh boy that'll always be a fever dream to me), I'm impressed with ACL pulling off Dua. Looks like it'll be her first true full set in the US in 2 years (unless more dates are announced) and easily the biggest name in the world to headline a major domestic fest this cycle. To get her as an exclusive is a major statement from a festival that seemingly has been content with slipping behind the Coachellas/Roos/Lollas of the world in prestige the past 5-10 years.

I also understand that. It’s a draw for lots of people if not me. I always kind of preferred the rock edge ACL had which I quit going after 2018. I need some black angels and Metallica and shit.
