They also played Lolla in 2012. I don't think Arc could afford them and Pitchfork doesn't usually book electronic headliners and I expect them to be playing Eurofests during Pichfork.
Oh nice. Switch them out for Foos or The Killers then.
Foos would have to play Aug 1st and US stadium schedule has a curious mid west date a geographic gap. Cincinnati FF show is roughly 300 miles away for the radius clause nerds.
Sorry for all the newbie questions but never been to Chicago.
Is it difficult to make it to the after shows with an uber or the subway? Anyone ever went to a Cubs game and then the fest? Sounds like an awesome day to me. Plenty of beaches nearby too. Looking at flying in with no car...

If you're walking with any purpose its about 10-15 minutes from the back of the field at one stage to the other.
It's very easy to hop on the CTA after the fest to get wherever you're going. Grant Park is next to the Loop, and all the major CTA lines are within walking distance of the park. An Uber might be more challenging, and fares would almost certainly be surging after the fest. I haven't looked at the Cubs schedule, but if they're in town and playing a day game it would be very easy to hop on the red line after the game to get downtown. You definitely don't need a car for a weekend in Chicago.
also, most aftershows start at 11 PM most venues they take place at are pretty close to CTA train lines. Some train lines stop running after a certain point (the brown line stops at 1:30 AM) but the red line runs 24 hours, though obviously with less frequency overnight.

Seems like even with a 12 start you’d miss a lot of festival if you tried to do a Cubs game first, but yes it’s logistically easy to get from one to the other
Is it really a 25 min walk between main stages? Yikes
I went my first time last year, I had VIP so they did have golf cart rides but those lines were so long I walked for the most part. I walked with a little pep but it took me 10 minutes,
They have a couple 130 games. Get to the fest by maybe 5-530. Seems like the big acts dont go on until then from previous schedules
It can take a minute to get in at peak times so make sure you give yourself enough time, nothing like hearing the act you wanna see waiting to get inside the festival across the bridge (spoken from experience)
Lolla is usually pretty easy to predict but all of the headliners getting announced for the other fests so far this year is a Lolla 2021-2023 pastiche. Tough to see what else is there after Blink/SZA.

Hozier is a lock.
What's up Palehose. I gotta admit I'm out of the loop, but Hozier isn't a South headliner at this point is he? That would be gross even by Lolla standards. Is Olivia Rodrigo top 4? Ew.

Yo!
I'm guessing Hozier is still a north stage headliner, but you never know. Olivia Rodrigo is probably top 4 at this point.
If SZA is top 4 with only two albums and two sold out United Center shows under her belt then Olivia with two albums and two sold out United Center shows also would easily be top 4.
Unless they really whiffed on something, that's not happening. The booker said last summer that one of the challenges he faces when piecing together a line-up is not going back to an act too soon, and he specifically noted the Foos in that regard.
He talked about RHCP being a rare band that's both a legacy act but still has a strong draw with the younger set. Cited Radiohead and Oasis (seemed optimistic a reunion was on the horizon) as two acts that also fall in that category that might be possible in the future, but no good clues about this year.
He also stated that he has been trying to figure out when the time would be right to pull the trigger on their first country headliner. Given the weird slate of acts available, this might be the year -- just not sure who they would feel comfortable enough to go with. He was really down on how rap is drawing these days as well.
Pearl Jam is also out as they already have some rumored Wrigley dates in August.
My guess is we get one of Fall Out Boy, MCR, or Paramore (who seemed to be locked in for 2023 initially) to go with Blink.
The Killers might be available. Cage could get a bump up to a north stage slot. Vampire Weekend and Lorde could be back on the road by Fall.
I think Peso Pluma is also in play for a 4-8 spot.
