My ideal but somewhat realistic set of headliners:
SZA The Killers Halsey Tool Oasis Skrillex Kanye Paramore
With undercard featuring Bob moses, Rufus du sol, khruangbin, say she she, nxworries, Leon bridges, phantogram, fka twigs.
I don't want to come off like a dick but that's not very realistic. Oasis? Kanye?
Not very realistic but within the realm of possibility. But now seeing the coach lineup, I would be shocked if Lola is even half as good as what I suggested
I mean what you suggested isn't in the realm of possibility at all. No major festival is going to book Kanye. Oasis hasn't played a show together in 15 years and shows no signs of ever doing so. Paramore is overseas during Lolla opening for Taylor Swift.

Coachella might. Paul has a weird fascination with Kanye lol.

11/19: Caribou 11/22: Ranger Trucco 11/29: Armand Van Helden* 1/16: L'Impératrice 1/30: Jamie xx 2/1: DJ Seinfeld 2/7: Mild Minds* 3/1: Father John Misty* 3/19: Confidence Man 3/23: DARKSIDE 5/8: Rüfüs Du Sol
Never a promising sign when Kings of Leon starts turning up on international Lolla lineups.
IMO they are better than RHCP, Sam Smith, Blink 182, Arcade Fire, the Killers, Green Day, MGK, Marshmello, the Chainsmokers and many other headliners that frequent lineups now a days

I seem to recall them breaking out internationally before they really got big in the US, so might be more demand for them in those markets. Also, it's hard to book a replacement headliner -- especially if you're trying to fill a rock slot on several festival dates.
People freaked out about Imagine Dragons being booked for Lolla India last year, and I think it's wise to acknowledge that these international Lollas have little impact on the OG. Not even booked by the same team.

I think we already locked him in but we can double lock in Hozier.
Also the Justice subreddit is saying their tour will be in August making them pretty likely for Lolla again.
4/8 headliners look like SZA, Blink-182, Hozier, Justice.
I’d expect them to book a couple more women up top
Thinking outside the obvious names.
Feels like we should be nearing a Lorde album cycle, but no idea if she'll be ready to play by August.
Jay-Z is also teasing a new album, and I am sure they would love to finally land him for Lolla if he's willing to do it. Last time he toured, he did Meadows and ACL before his proper tour, so he could probably do that again and cycle back to Chicago later in the year or in early 2025.
I think Jay would be #1 in that scenario, especially given he hasn't toured since 2017 and it's his first Lolla.
I also wonder if the Killers residency deal might limit their ability to do other US shows around that time (though the real draw there is obviously Hot Fuss, so maybe not).
Idk about the headliners but NewJeans almost certainly had the biggest crowd of any non headliner at the festival.
I figured. I just can't see how they're not going to keep going that direction for at least one of the nights.
With how Suenos only took one week to sell out, I think they will definitely lean more into Latin just like Coachella. Kpop is huge though too. I went with my roommate to a Blackpink show and and it was also the most diverse crowd I've seen
I haven't had my finger on the pulse lately - how do the Kpop days at Lolla usually sell and how well do the headliners draw?
I keep reading about this Stray Kids group and after I get over my disappointment of it not being Brian Setzer affiliated it just seems very Lolla-y.
When they announced J Hope was being added to Lolla in 2022 they sold the rest of their tickets in no time. And he was essentially the lowest ranking member of BTS. Newjeans and Tomorrow x Together last year def drove sales for them. Stray Kids just announced a headlining date at Hyde Park in London and thats probably going to sell out. So a K pop act that can push 50-60k worth of tix in a fest setting is def the kind of act Lolla would want. No reason not to assume a latin or Kpop headliner isnt just going to be the norm for them now. Its just going to be about when they put em on T Mobile instead of Bud Light at the end of the day.

Who are the other HL sized options who are available? I know Balvin has played before. Getting another Latin artist seems likely I just couldn't even tell you who's big enough these days.
I'm all in for the scorned Sharika revenge HL set tho
