I remember listening to Tipper in 2020 while getting excited for Roo before Covid hit and having such a viscerally negative reaction that it put me off of really giving EDM as a whole a chance for at least a year. Maybe in my maturity I can now appreciate the weird and stinky, but I never had the taste for bleu cheese

I just put it on with an open mind and yeah it’s not for me. Kind of feels like I’m stuck in yucky goo inside a planetarium while a microphone is held up to ants walking all over each other and I can’t get unstuck from the goo and sounds of the ants walking on the microphone is amplified and delayed and layered. But like not in a good way. The wooks can have that brown acid shit

After seeing King Gizzard again last night, I'm all for them playing every night at Roo they want to. They even threw in a "rave set" for about 20 minutes, and if they just want to do a full set of that one light at Roo I'm not going to be opposed.

I was in the pit last night in St. Augustine too! And completely agree I want them to play every night but will happily just take one marathon set. Two sets isn’t crazy tho when you realize Bon Iver has gotten two unique sets before.
Danzig legacy set in 2012 was pretty fun. But Bad Brains stole the show that day.
yeah, we did have that conversation. I think I told you, but I hadn't slammed/moshed in a couple of decades. But the guys I was with knew the history of me doing handstands and cartwheels across pits to piss off violent people. I took the dare, emptied my pockets and hit the circle with a handstand knocking some pissed off chick's hat who would have punched me but instead shook her head when she saw it was my feet. haha. That was a good day. But we saw Bad Brains again in Pensacola Beach that September or October and HR had aged another 10 years in those few months. Shit. I found the schedule. I think that was the night Spectrum Road played which was my favorite set of the weekend besides Phish double set close on Sunday. Bad Brains > Flogging Molly > Puscifer > The Roots (somehow missed Dispatch) > Red Hot Chili Peppers > Spectrum Road > Skrillex > GZA & Grupo Fantasma. Yeah I loved that day outside of the Red Hots who were whatever.
esteban, was there at that Bad Brains set, followed by Flogging Molly. 2 great sets! Loved how Bad Brains would get the pit ripping and then would dial them back a bit with some reggae. At Flogging Molly set I saw a guy with a black handlebar mustache tattooed on his upper lip. Think he might have been one of those FSU guys down from Boston.
Any chance King Gizz is 2 on their day? That would feel a bit much, but in that discord screenshot Brad says he thinks the top 8 is the best since pre-Covid, then immediately says people seem excited about the idea of King Gizz and Justice.
