The CDAN blind item site heavily implied that Yorke wanted control of the band(similar to Chris Martin getting 50% of Coldplay) and some members told him to point sand with the stalemate continuing. I can believe that more than artistic motivations for side project stuff. Pre-2018 side project stuff had 2nd tier songs and one of them was Yorke doing a trial balloon for how to do an indie label Radiohead album release.
Thom touring as Radiohead with a scab band would be so stellar. Would kill to see a Radiohead touring lineup with Pino Palladino and both Freese brothers.

I can confirm that Radiohead, Gorillaz and The xx will all tour Europe in the summer of 2025. Not sure how that translates to Coachella and April 2025.
Hopefully a proper show in Los Angeles since they have not done an adequately sized venue since 2008. They could easily sell out 2 nights at Sofi or Brookside at the Rose Bowl.
My Radiohead hot take is they've always been great to see at Coachella, but those sets weren't really different from seeing them elsewhere on tour, except being in the open air and not getting a second encore. They haven't really used Coachella as a canvas to make a unique show for it like Beyonce, Ye, etc have.
When is the line up coming out...and yes i know this is the 2025 thread....but i thought i'd get a jump on things. 2024 has hit 421 pages...just getting a head start!
as ridiculous as it sounds if noah kahan keeps up his trajectory he will be headlining coachella in 2026 or 2027
I tried to pick stretches just so the Counting Crows line would land, but I don't even think any of them headlining is really that more wild than any of this year's 3 HL would have sounded a year ago.
