as ridiculous as it sounds if noah kahan keeps up his trajectory he will be headlining coachella in 2026 or 2027
Something going on lately with new acts skyrocketing to headliner status. It’s weird
that and artists going to stadiums really quickly. seems like artists are either playing stadiums or canceling tours. industry is in a really confusing place right now.
Okay I'll say it: it's time for a Coachella cum leak, even if its just a dribble. GV can only give us blue balls so many times before someone blows a load so messy that it scrambles the lineup placements.

Odesza will never headline Coachella. Before this year I'd have said that they could RTTD but I think even that is dubious now. If they end up headlining it will only be if something has gone catastrophically wrong or they put out something massive (which could be said of basically anyone). But considering they've been putting out the same stuff for years as their popularity dwindles I don't see it ever happening.

I don't fancy it. Artists are supposed to pay their dues and evolve musically while growing their audience. Going from a tent to the main stage, that's a story. Just going from obscurity to main stage sub in a year is sus.

was talking to a friend who's company does stuff for stadium sized venues and he said that the stadium tour circuit was dry as a bone this year (ie dont expect any big announcements) with several big name cancellations. the hypothesis that he made is that Live Nation is driving any act that is close to popular enough to play a stadium sized venue to their ampitheatres due to 2024 being such a down year for concert tours, and Live Nation needing the product. now I havent seen any LN tours that seem like they should have been at a stadium tbh but its pretty clear at this point that most of the major artists are taking 2024 off and 2025 will likely be a better year for live music

Did the ACDC stadium tour fizzle again? On the back burner since the start of 2020, dates booked ready to go for 2024(Munich June 12th leaked) after Power Trip and then nothing.
I also noticed the 65k Hyde Park London British Summer Time concert series only has 2 ho-hum shows for this year when by Jan 10th last year they had 5-6 big name shows up last year.

been waiting for Bad Bunny to announce his stadium dates but weeks keep going by and it looks like the arena dates might be it...wild.

Any word on a Dua Lipa tour? The daily mail said she's doing stadiums for this tour instead of arenas.

Those dates aren’t even sold out so I don’t see a stadium happening. Also them tickets too DAMN HIGH
I think people might be over the ridiculous prices now. Post-covid, people were gonna pay up from not having any shows for awhile. But now things have settled down

Wow I totally forgot that this was supposed to be the “warmup” run before the stadium leg. Bad Bunny going from setting ticket gross records at many venues including SoFi to a catastrophically undersold arena tour was not on my bingo card. I think it was MAINLY a self inflicted wound - sure, his newer album is not as pop friendly, but I think the bigger issue - and this is anecdotally from talking to people - is that he set ticket prices so egregiously high that people simply said no. I always wondered if fans would ever fight back and I think they finally have. $1k for face face floors is absurd.

People are kinda broke and dont know what the next 12 months will bring. Hating on Ticketmaster BS that got worse in the past 2 years is also in the mix.
It varies by genre and artist, but crowd behaviour has also made reduce my show count.
