did anyone confirm what type of basement jaxx set we're getting?
I've been stalking their socials for confirmation of a live set. they start their live show in June in the UK, so it seems reasonable that they could have it ready to go for Coachella but nothing confirmed yet.

I’m in meetings and haven’t seen it come across but did anyone get the loyalty code yet? Just want to make sure I wasn’t missing anything as I haven’t seen anything come thru.
I knew they’d get 2nd line booking but I thought at the end of their day tbh. At the same time, we saw what opening for Taylor did for Sabrina. Coachella could be anticipating them to blow up even more.
People said the same thing about Joji and then Glimpse of Us blew up
Yeah, but Sabrina was booked on the third line...unless the opening for a star factor has absolutely blown up, fourth on their day seems insane to me. Also, if we're being honest, opening for Taylor is a much bigger deal than opening for Billie.
Other artists billed 4th on their day the past two years: Justice Gesa Khurangbin Chem Bros Boy Genius Porter Robinson
The Marias is an absolute overbill by a huge margin
it’s an overpromotion based on Coachella history/good live band/strong record coming. It’s basically Khruangbin from last year.

I feel like Above & Beyond are going to have to do a mainly throwbacks set rather than any of their recent sets which feature mostly current songs from their label, which is arguably at one of its lowest points right now. It's actually quite an interesting situation which I can't really recall for many other booked artists in the past. They are releasing a new album as well, but you'd have to imagine they would have to forgo most of it to make sure they get most their OG hits in...especially since thats what people are there for.
It is also a bit funny because their sound has departed pretty heavily away from trance in the last decade into this formulaic bigroom sound (every iteration of sun and moon possible). If anything they should have done A&B presents Oceanlab.
If they stick to their recent set structure rather than a throwback of hits and actual trance, I can see this being a letdown for most. All that is to say, Sun & Moon being played once on the fields I guess is a good reason enough for the booking.
I don’t think Basement Jaxx gets that billing without being a live show either
i agree with yours and everyone elses points. there has to be a tour no??? i cant imagine basement jaxx being cool with doing 1 (2) live shows in the US without being able to maximize on it given how big the production will be.
edit: unless they got a PHAT check from GV to keep it exclusive of course

This is what I got with the Lineup Announcement email...
"2023/2024 attendees get early access starting Thursday, November 21 at 11am PT. To access the loyalty presale, register with the same email used to purchase or register a wristband in 2023 or 2024. Put $49 down with the payment plan and you're in."
Coming out of my inforoo hibernation to say benfox2 is quite possibly IN for Coachella 2025. I have a second hand connection to someone in ticketing who is working to nepotism me into a comp ticket.
This lineup fucking ROCKS for my Taste, and my work schedule aligns with w2 for the first (and possibly last) time. Special shoutout to Underscores for being the best Hyperpop artist to break out of the genre. Her albums Wallsocket and Fishmonger are some of my favorites ever. And Fcukers/Ginger Root on the undercard are some of My GF and I's favs. Anyways, can't wait to spend the next 6 months getting unreasonably hyped with you all. Maybe I'll even see you in the desert...?

the Marias is super big with Gen Z. If you are 20-24 currently and live in CA, there's already a 75% chance you listened to those first EPs in high school. Maria has a killer voice and presence too.
Marias are pretty standard super popular in LA (they played the Greek and Hollywood Forever) + GV darlings overbilling
Twigs and Clairo are subbing Prima and late 2nd line here
It doesn't always make sense, but GV politics / history / agents play a big role, I imagine the Marias have been pushing for a billing like this since April
I don’t think Basement Jaxx gets that billing without being a live show either

Guessing one LA show between weekends, one NYC, maybe they play Portola later in the year.

Basement Jaxx are playing a festival in Aukland in March that's billed as a DJ set, but this festival also seems to have some sort of symphony that plays along with the acts? still optimistic that coachella will debut the new live show, but needless to say I'm also pretty anxious about it.

I know people really want the throwbacks set, but until we get some indication they are doing one, I wouldn’t expect anything too different than what they’re currently doing. And agreed, I think it has a good chance of disappointing people unfortunately
GV billed Basement Jaxx's recent DJ set at Portola as Basement Jaxx (DJ Set) and their live show tour starts just a month and a half after Coachella. It's live.

Friday Maybes - Lady Gaga - The Prodigy - The Marias - julie - KNEECAP - Glixen
I got sad a little bit making a list for Friday as I would not normally or there’s a lot more in my bucket list I would be more interested than the above acts in my past Coachellas but I need to have a few acts there. Saturday and Sunday are better.

I agree that most signs point that way, but coachella usually doesn't put live or dj sets on the poster and I still just want confirmation lol. DJ set a month before coachella and live shows a month after isn't exactly conclusive.
we need the lineup section on the website or a social media post to confirm to put my mind at ease.
I think "growing up" at a festival is realizing in your mid/late 30s that a few sets per day you're really passionate about is a lot better than 25 sets that day I'd be "kinda down" for
And other than Sunday where I only have like 2-3 musts, I feel like I get that really well here. Man, I wish LA Phil was Sunday.

A&B is also releasing new (trance) music lol Also Anjuna would be on Quasar, not the actual set

I have quite a few worries about this lineup (just conflicts really). One of them isn't whether Basement Jaxx is DJ or Live. It's gotta be live, and i think the billing reflects that.
