In Yeazy's defense (I don't remember that specific post on Sub) his initial post said "Post booked for sub or headliner depending on what happens with others" and he's explained Green Day. I don't know a lot about Travis, but Travis wanting his own tagline wouldn't surprise me at all.

As I’ve been going through and checking out the artists, this year seems very loudly noticeably driven by tiktok more than other years. I guess it makes sense that this will continue to progress as the years go on, but just seemed a bit jarring this go round.

I think the story remains the same on most of the Reddit leakers. Some hits, some misses - but no one really should ever put any weight into confirmations or guarantees.
People putting Post and Green Day as subs on mocks because it was "confirmed" was extraordinarily silly.

My guess was either Post or GD were in the RTTD slot with Fred as a HL (something like Friday - Gaga, Saturday - Fred, Sunday - Post, Welcome to the Desert - Green Day) and when Travis Scott became available (GV have been obviously wanting him for 5 years and want to be the first post-Astroworld major fest) they probably told Fred they were pushing him to a future year and Travis wanted the below slot

I have doubts on Green Day ever agreeing to be a RTTD. I suspect people heard their name involved and made the motivated reasoning linkage that Green Day is comparable to No Doubt which just isnt true.
I knew they’d get 2nd line booking but I thought at the end of their day tbh. At the same time, we saw what opening for Taylor did for Sabrina. Coachella could be anticipating them to blow up even more.
People said the same thing about Joji and then Glimpse of Us blew up
Yeah, but Sabrina was booked on the third line...unless the opening for a star factor has absolutely blown up, fourth on their day seems insane to me. Also, if we're being honest, opening for Taylor is a much bigger deal than opening for Billie.

The Marias is an absolute overbill by a huge margin

Darkside and Beth Gibbons will play absolutely in different tents (I can see it too) but thank you on that what would be perfect ending the night of Saturday for me, Mikey. ; ) I have forgotten about Charli XCX and Sam Fender, hopefully you took care of it as well.

Charli being a last minute addition smells. I wasn't around for rumors season but as soon as Brat dropped, Charli as a subheadliner seemed like the most obvious thing in the world to me and a huge priority for the festival. I can't possibly see bending over for Megan in advance and not calling Charli.
