Gambino will probably hit the festival circuit pretty hard next year but I don’t think it’ll be Coachella.
yea if theres one trend ive noticed, aside from Billie and Tyler most of the headliners theyve gotten recently seem to be festival exclusives or exclusive in general

Personally would be surprised if Gambino returns. Seems like a fine option for a last minute fill in though like Doja or The Weeknd. I'd imagine Kendrick and/or Tame would be more likely headliners to return or artists like ROSALIA or Karol G return and get the bump.

We haven't had a repeat headliner since 2017 (unless you count The Weeknd's bit with SHM, or the aborted Rage performances). Not to say they won't repeat headliners, but they've seemed not to want to unless it's something special like a reunion.
“‘Radical Optimism’ by Dua Lipa debuts at #2 on the Billboard 200 with 83k units (51.5k pure).
It becomes her highest-charting and biggest album debut to date.“
Some flop.
Genuinely can’t tell if you are being sincere or not but that overall number of 83k seems very meh for someone that is supposed to be a huge pop star.
The telling figure is that 50k was pure sales. More people bought the album than streamed. Usually the reverse. Olivia Rodrigo actually split it with Guts. She had 300k with 150k being streams and the rest physical.
Late bookings aside, I don't see a reason to bring back Gambino or Tame next year to be honest. I really do think the next repeat headliner we'll get is going to be Harry or Billie. I guess Kendrick is always an option. Unless they go for an older act like a Coldplay or finally get Rage back.
Gambino is one of those artists i almost feel ive grown out of enjoying. some of his music is downright cringeworthy in retrospect. he feels way more like a livenation act at this point though, i dont see coachella clamoring for him except as a backup
Rüfüs (live), Pretty Girl, Joy Orbison, Soulwax, DJ Heartstring, Sammy Virji, and Shygirl
Rufus live, Floating Points, Jessie Ware, Soulwax, Interplanetary Criminal, AG Cook, Four Tet, Nia Archives, Jamie xx solo, Mount Kimbie, Sammy Virij, and Shygirl
Gambino even being a headliner at all felt like a product of the unique moment when Atlanta was one of the top shows, he was the one piece of Solo that people actually liked, and he's got an album that's actually really good on top of it. No matter how good this new album is, it seems highly unlikely he'd ever recreate that momentum. I loved his set, but it feels like part of a zeitgeist that's passed.
I think most/all headliners going forward are going to fit the bill of either rare festival get (Bad Bunny, Frank Ocean) or GV promotion so they can market the artist at a higher caliber (Blackpink, Lana)
Gambino doesn't really do much - he will probably be all over the festival circuit next year and if AEG is already running a full arena tour for him, not sure why they'd bring him back
Still my favorite day of any Coachella ever: Let's Eat Grandma -> Yellow Days -> Turnstile -> JPEGMAFIA -> Kacey Musgraves -> Anderson Paak -> The 1975 -> Janelle Monae
So Gambino being not-so-great didn't bug me too much because everything else that day was amazing lol
