And do we really think Gambino will headline again...sub...maybe...but headline...2019 was not that great...it was good. Is he the new RadioHead that can headline again after 5 years (2012-2017)?

No. Thats only Radiohead cause its almost a certainty with a new album that theyll headline again when its time.

Was it here or Reddit where people were seriously arguing that Radiohead can’t headline anymore. Sounds like a Reddit thing but wouldn’t be surprised if it was actually here.

you're probably thinking of one of my posts where I included them in a group of acts that should headline but that weren't very likely to get booked at Coachella unless we went to 6 headliners. I never said they weren't headliners but I still think it's unlikely they get booked as a headliner at Coachella in the 2020s era. It's nothing against Radiohead, I love Radiohead, it was more against Coachella not booking bands like Radiohead but everyone here picked one part of the point I was making and ignored the context.
The last couple years we basically have 4 headliners and 3 strong subs so I guess we'll see in a few more years if they ever get back in the studio.

If Coachella were still sticking to 3 headliners, I'd have doubts that they'd book Radiohead again but now with 4 headliners I could see them still giving them a spot while the other 3 are more current commercial artists.

I remember being at that Gambino set and the most fun was seeing Chance the Rapper pop up. Three months later and Chance the Rapper drops his damn album, I'm sure they thought the album would be good and he could have a high spot for 2020 if that had ever happened.
def picky enough to not let Gambino be lined up as the headliner on May 14 2024. obvi Doja and Gwen were last minute, not a fair comparison
It’s a pretty fair comparison when GV have a long history of waiting till the last minute to confirm headliners.
not really. the concept of taking a swing for a headliner is how u end up with both ppl like Bad Bunny, Frank Ocean, etc but also how u can end up with Doja cat if you miss. I want them to keep swinging

Wonder if people will still think its the JT or Bieber year in the 2035 Rumors thread despite GV having a half dozen great opportunities to book each of them
Coachella is also picky enough to not let Radiohead and Gambino headline after having to beg Doja Cat and bribe Gwen Stefani.

Doja and No Doubt also weren't repeat headliners so I'm not sure why they're looped in with a question about whether Gambino would return to headline again.

lol Radiohead and Thom Yorke festival at Coachella Outdoor Stage for the 30th year anniversary of The Bends
RTTD: Radiohead
Outdoor Stage: Thom Yorke with Burial & Four Tet > Thom Yorke with Flying Lotus > Thom York with Modeselektor > Thom Yorke > Atoms For Peace > The Smile > Radiohead

I don't think it's super likely that Gambino is headlining again, but I don't know that a repeat headliner is a disqualifier given that Doja played a high profile slot in 2022 and Tyler was touring the same 3 year old album.
