People should be more thankful for Lana and Doja spearheading the flop that led to this year's bountiful harvest.
that part.. this year was so spacious it was beautiful. although i’m not sure how an extra 30k attendees would really do much to either weekend, it felt empty with the 80-90k at W2

Funny cause I thought W2 felt fucking slammed although maybe it was just bc my expectations were that it would feel like a ghost town

I for the most part never experienced any uncomfortably crowded sets aside from when I followed some folks to DJ Snake (which even then, I've seen worse), and also didn't experience any weirdly empty sets, which was nice. The only time I felt aware of how many fewer people there were was when I'd walk by the headliners, honestly.

I love how y’all try to act like Lana wasn’t the biggest draw last year, at least in terms of moving tickets/online discussion. Her and Billie’s duet was probably the biggest moment last year.
But yeah she spearheaded the flop. The same girl who sold out foro sol x2 and just played a stadium. Not to mention insane streaming #s that currently outstream *2/3 of this year’s headliners
The problem with last year was yeah Lana should never be the one to lead Coachella, which speaks more to How weak the headliners were overall, but to place blame on her when she was the buzziest name Is lame af.

The only times I ever felt like W2 was slammed was headliners (saw none of them) and probably Kid Cudi since he had no counter programming and everyone rushed to Sahara. Also the expansion really helped spread people out.

Interesting they dropped who’s at Sonora, I wonder if they’re gonna do every stage. Is Quasar coming then?
Probably get Yuma and Quasar at some point but none of the other stages.
Except for dolab and Heineken house, of course.
That makes sense, I’m just feeling greedy and need to know Charli and Zedd (and therefore Sammy V’s position and tangentially Basement Jaxx) because I feel like their liminal set time status is creating potential for a lot of conflict down the lineup at night.
Hope we get Quasar today though, I hope the lineup’s just as sick as last year, though I hope W2 gets a Floating Points Daphni Jamie type booking and they spread out the Anyma and Diplo type bookings

So how is it "sold out" if the other options are not gone.
I would say it’s effectively sold out to most people and there are way fewer GA w/ shuttle available than regular tickets. Should sell out sell out by EoD

Car camping isnt sold out. Thats actually the big indicator moreso than tickets on how this is going. 2023 had a crazy resale market for car camping. I wonder if people think hotels will actually pop up or just say fuck it and camp. The powered car camping, preferred etc are sold out though.

I realize you're new here, but you really have no idea how any of this works.

I mean is it farfetched to say that GA will sell out today if non-shuttle passes are gone? Or do they shift shuttle coupled tickets to the non-shuttle pool?

The pool of tickets for GA without shuttle is always far smaller than the GA/shuttle combo due to the city of Indio mandating that a large number of shuttle passes be sold every year along with tickets. So regular GA sells out early and a far larger number of people have to buy the shuttle combo tickets whether they want shuttle passes or not.
So relying on regular GA being unavailable as a barometer for whether Wk1 will "sell out" is backwards. You might also learn the difference between "sold out" and "passes are unavailable," because they're not the same.

Oh I completely forgot about the shuttle deal they have with Indio 🤦♂️ I promise I’m not a noob, just stupid.

Trance at Coachella confirms the beliefs people on the internet were fighting me about when I said trance is officially on its way back. Funny enough, the first times I saw it was in pop rather than EDM. That Robert Miles piano is making its rounds (see Desire by SG and Tove)
Not sure who in their right mind would argue trance is not making a comeback, not really a big revelation at all when you see Charlotte De Witte and Amelie Lens playing a ton of it.
Re: A&B you might mean me and the point I was making was that A&B is not slinging the type of trance that is making a comeback right now, which is more rooted in 90’s techno.
100% still stand by what I said. I followed anjuna very closely since 2011 and am very much into the new trance resurgence now. Anjunabeats formula has gotten crusty af for a while and is not up to date on the new sound. This is why I think they’ll need to play a more classics heavy set for the Coachella crowd. The current form is in some of the worst shape they’ve been in a long time.
I think trance heads like to doom and gloom about the decline of the genre and refuse to see that a huge comeback is in the making in both old and new sounds.
Also have you heard the new A&B track? It feels pretty regular A&B to me
