Anyone have any insights on how ACS/1of1's earplugs sound? I have some decent earplugs/don't use them all the time (I should be), and kinda want to spring on their usual Coachella sale to protect my ears with top quality. Does you still get that same bass and clarity enjoyment? I've always hated earplugs b/c my experience is almost always diminished.

Just picked up mine 6 months ago. They are 100% worth it. Have not had any issues with discomfort and the sound quality comes through well.

Is anybody going to the NERO show tomorrow night at The Novo? I'm even more excited to see them now that I know they aren't on the lineup for Coachella.
Keinemusik outdoor set between Charli and Green Day is going to be a bit of a dip in energy. I guess this would have been true no matter where they placed tho. Keine placement is just so weird, only quasar and Yuma feel right for them.

I recommend custom earplugs 100%. I got mine done by a local audiologist and they keep live music enjoyable while keeping my ears safe. Definitely worth the investment

I’ve already got tinnitus in a bad way in my mid 30’s. I’m gonna snag a pair but curious if all I’m going to hear is ringing. Anyone else have experience with that or am I the only dumbass?

A bit off the topic but horse tranquilizer can certainly make tinnitus worse, so if that’s in your repertoire, could be good to chill on it, especially in higher ear-stress situations.

Lmao good to know but that’s not anywhere near my bag of tricks. Being born deaf, working in a facility that sounds like a plane is landing over your head and about a 1000+ shows have done irreparable damage.

So I'm curious if Misfits getting their own font/logo is going to have an effect on billing going forward. Kinda feel like it's opened Pandora's box and now others might start asking for the same. Many thought SHM getting that RTTD slot was going to be a one-time deal and now with three lineups since, it's here to stay. I mean, what's to stop someone like Oasis next year being like "OK we'll play but you have to put our Oasis logo on the poster like you did with Misfits or no deal"?
I guess I'm saying that I wouldn't be shocked if headliners start demanding this too and we start seeing them billed as their own font/logo too.

No. You dont just hear ringing. I have tinnitus but I focus a ton to not let the ringing mess with my everyday life that at shows its not that big of a deal when I have earplugs in. And I cannot even be at a show without them now cause Im so sensitive to the volume now after using earplugs for 25 years. Maybe an orchestra show im ok if I an far enough away, but thats it. And if youre getting customs they figure it all out for you. For mer personally its all about volume reduction. My brain is so conditioned now that its figured out how to cut through the shit and gimme the music without issue. Thats a lot of peoples problem. They have zero patience when trying earplugs and all that. As mentioned above the whole "diminished" thing is due to not giving yourself time to adjust. Your brain will figure it out if you let it.

I’ve gotten good at ignoring it in everyday life and I used the plugs Coachella sent out in the box that one year, but they were somewhat uncomfortable. This gives me enough insight to just go for it now though. Appreciate the feedback.

Tbf I figured the SHM was here to stay after the MCR fiasco of 2020. You can’t please everyone but as a business you try to please as many as you can. It’s the industry standard across all festivals now not just Coachella.
I think the logo thing is dependent. Maybe they do it for oasis if they take less money. But they’re not gonna do it for like two shell or whatever their name is

Misfits closing outdoor is a dream come true. They sounded great at the original riot fest reunion but the crowd size was a problem. Cannot wait to see them on the outdoor.

Yeah I’m super keen for this because it’s probably the least crowded way to see the Misfits reunion.
Every other fest they play is to their target audience and would have nearly the whole crowd watching

Glenn is a weirdo but they've definitely been billed (at Riot) without the logo before. They legally need to be called The Original Misfits because of the Jerry/Glenn lawsuit but they could have done that with small lettering. I honestly could believe Paul just wanted to do it because it's a badass logo and YOLO.

I’ve been asking for this since they got back together and I’m sure they have tried to book them. I’m wondering if the NMH phone policy will be put into action or if they’ll just be super vigilant about copyright strikes on YouTube. I’m guessing they won’t be streamed unless they’re given a hefty sum or Glenn has made a complete 180 on his preference for their live shows to not be online. Either way I’m real fuckin’ jazzed up about their set.
I don’t see how Keinemusik could play a 55 minute set tbh. Anything below 2 hours for them….is just weird. Very curious to see how that plays out. I think Coachella ‘23 was one of the shortest sets they’ve ever played lol
