Between Brat on its own, plus all of the other deluxe tracks and remixes, Charli is a MUST next year. Definitely a situation to ignore the no double appearances in two years rule, this shit is crazy. Take a listen to the 365 Easyfun remix if you want a feel for the era

Just saw Rebecca Black at a pride performance last night and with there being overlap with Portola where she was on the lineup, man I’m hoping she’s on next year. Her at Mojave would be so damn good with her doing really fun high energy charli xcx type music and having amazing backup dancers. Also I just need to see the chainsaw mic used at Coachella honestly
I wish Charli was popular enough to headline. Her 2022 performance was headliner shit anyways. She’s by far the most interesting artist in pop, but most people don’t seem to care about her.
I had a convo in the office with a few colleagues talking up Ariana and Beyoncé and I said “Anyone else excited about the new Charli XCX dropping this weekend?” They looked at me like I had 3 heads.
was thinking a bit earlier about how, incredibly, next year is already going to be the 5th anniversary of the 2020 Lineup That Never Was. I did some light double checking and I think I missed one or two, but this should be the list of artists from that year who haven't returned back yet:
Rex Orange County BIGBANG Lewis Capaldi GRiZ Friendly Fires Erick Morillo (lol) Cashmere Cat Tiga Thom Yorke Roddy Ricch Kruder & Dorfmeister Aya Nakamura Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 Anna Calvi Ellen Allien ONYVAA FKA twigs Marina Lil Nas X Leningrad Lauren Daigle SebastiAn Black Pumas Guy Laliberté Detlef Sahar Z
Now, some of these people are obviously less feasible others but some of them are really curious. Shocked Sara Landry hasn't come back at all yet, I'm going to guess she's almost certainly in play next year for example.

Not to keep harping on the broadway thing but it’s actually a uniquely good year if they want to get weird in that way, which feels like a natural progression from having composers. Sufjan album show prob gonna win best musical, and the stereophonic album is perhaps the best I’ve heard this year. (Also weird to have my two favorite albums of the year be scores, between that and Challengers)

A 45 minute broadway set wouldn’t be ideal
But if that set is Illinoise or Stereophonic it would be, not traditional showtune broadway stuff. I also think if they could’ve pulled off Hamilton mixtape it would’ve been great, but I’m not egging for like Merrily We Roll Along or Sweeney Todd or something. These are songs that actually make sense for Coachella. I genuinely find it weird that most music blogs are ignoring Stereophonic, written by Will Butler, a legit great indie rock album
