I do think Jamie’s recent studio tracks havent been as good as In colour but I think his more introspective, sadboi tracks have always been his best, like Hold Tight, SeeSaw, Girl etc. Breather on the new album is definitely just as good, if not better than those three tracks so i’m hopeful that the deep cuts will compare to it. for those who havent heard it, its the meditation-esque track hes performed at a lot of his recent sets

Sure. Jamie's new stuff isn't great and his DJ sets have been pretty boring for a while now. Romy's released some good tracks but her live sets don't seem that great. Oliver's solo output has been pretty forgettable.

now that Jamie's solo output has completely lost the sauce and in colour seems like an outlier I'd be interested in them reuniting.
the singles before the album announcement were good tbh, kill dem idontknow and lets do it again were fun and weird.
i liked life, but baddy and treat each other right were meh for me.
HOWEVER, go watch his glastonbury set. nearly the entire new album was played and shit was incredible. definitely hasnt lost all of the sauce, the bottle just isnt new anymore
Why wouldnt people wanna have the xx return? Nobody gave a shit about Romy when she performed last year cause theres no name recognition. I dont know how Oliver wouldve done given the same circumstances. Jamie is the only one who makes people think about the group anyway. They could def be a headliner if its their first show and you put them primetime with a closer after them just to ensure a larger crowd. But who else do you place around them. Still need one big name on there regardless. Or Goldenvoice wants to make sure they keep it going with JLH and headline them there instead.

The xx headlining Coachella would be just as empty as LCD Soundsystem in 2016, possibly worse. Considering the better, more popular options that should be available next year, I HIGHLY doubt Coachella would go for that.

That was based off very recent billing though which we don't have for The xx of course. Popularity-wise, Lana is easily bigger than The xx ever were.
