Funny how those "everybody already had a chance to see them" arguments have suddenly vanished when talking about Charli.
Or maybe consider that her tour was booked when she was much smaller and massively sold out, so there is obviously still huge demand for her. In stark contrast to Fred right now, who has been giving away tickets. Charli's surge in popularity is more in line with Cardi B (though obviously not nearly as huge) back when she performed than just some mid-tier act with a passionate fanbase. Her music is everywhere, she's the hot thing in pop music right now and would pull a ton of people to the fest just to see her who wouldn't have cared about her a year ago. She could subheadline and I wouldn't be surprised if she outdrew Fred, who has clearly lost a lot of steam (the only time I hear him mentioned outside Coachella topics is how his latest album is kinda lame) and has saturated SoCal specifically.
Funny how you act like you are amused by this "animosity between Fred and Charli fans", which you totally aren't part of, but you come off as the staunchest Fred fan on the board (following your logic that having an opinion about crowd size is an indication of fandom).
I hate to bring up points I've already made several times, but it feels bad faith bringing up Fred's current tour as it's purposefully targeting markets that aren't known to be EDM-heavy. You can talk about how that might be an overstep and too ambitious, but he's massively sold out every event he's had in CA, including a stadium show (so no, he's not oversaturated, I guarantee another arena-sized show here would sell out again). I don't think GV cares about how he sells in Wisconsin.
Fred also sells out internationally, see: his sold out 2024 arena tour in AUS with a 35k show at the end that also sold out (all in minutes), his 2023 EU tour that sold out, etc. etc.

Just pointing out an old tired (and usually bs) argument that people like to use against headliners they don't like and how bias is playing a big part here.
I love Fred and Charli and would love it if both were there but you and law are getting way too invested into this lol. I'm just making dumb observations about how people are acting here.
I do think it's funny though that all this energy is being wasted on this and yet Charli isn't even the pop girl of the summer most likely to headline next year...

Wait who's the pop girl of the summer that would otherwise headline?
Also I just like arguing for the sake of arguing (legal background), I'd be happy with whatever billing lol

Yes I know she played this year but she's still bigger and more likely to headline.

You are acting exactly like everyone else, just couching it as "dumb observations", is my point. I'm a big fan of both artists myself, I think you just have a distorted impression of what you are doing, or how invested everyone else is relative to yourself.
man when I saw 5 new pages to read I thought something had actually happened
Nothing's gonna happen till after Christmas when the last minute leaks happen.
I was already enjoying how many people seemed to be seriously gearing up for a mid-December drop, and lately I've seen speculation about it coming in November, when in reality it's probably a tight race whether it gets released before inauguration day.
i do not care where fred or charli are billed. i love them both and hope they are on the lineup. also wouldnt be mad at a sabrina headline set. not my favorite option but not the worst

I highly doubt that she would headline next year (are there even any rumors for her swirling around?), but the album is really good. Her and Chappell for a 2026 run would be fun and interesting though.

Charli did a tour but some fans were shut out or could only get crap nosebleed seats. Plus a full Charli show is different her stepping off stage for 10 songs when Troye was performing in the headline set. Production changes is a 3rd reason.

Sabrina couldn’t sell out her day of Outside Lands when a face value single day ticket was cheaper than nosebleeds at Chase Center for what it’s worth. Some acts have fans that just prefer not to go to a festival.
Twice officially out.. Honestly GV is kinda losing out not booking them, one of the few K-Pop groups that can fill a stadium and has an extensive discog
Would Michael Jackson have headlined by now if the big man was still with us?
if I remember correctly, the plan was for him to about a year after he died, but since he died n shit, that kind of made things improbable.
At the time of MJs death the London dates ended March 6th. Other dates of the 50 show run would have been dropped and added pushing it through April 2010. Before he died I heard rumours about taking the THIS IS IT show to other cities for lengthy residencies.
Also remember that his last proper show in continental US was January 1989. Promoters wouldnt touch him.
Someone a while back suggested Kelly Lee Owens in the Sonora. Just want to second that- the new album is insane. Her closing a night in the Sonora would be an absolute dream party.
hey does anyone want to have a five week long argument on if Ariana Grande is a “flop” or not, vis a vis her crowd size and sales figures ca. Coachella 2019 vs. what they would be today?
