Not exactly how this would work, % chance to win the title does t equal % chance to make playoff nor does it represent how it would play out in reality (no G5 in the above)
It's not a prediction. It's just a thing to look at and gauge expectations for who are going to be the competitive teams next year, framed by the expanded playoff. I doubt they'd give Georgia and Alabama 1/2, for one thing. Pretend 12 is Liberty or whoever you'd like.

Tl;Dr lots more out-of-state students started to go to Alabama during Saban's tenure, increasing the school's revenue by a billion dollars or more over that span.
DaBoer is supposedly the new coach. don't really know enough about him to know how to feel about that. he seems to have done well in very short stints elsewhere, but not stayed anywhere long enough since Sioux Falls to have really left his mark. i guess i could have said the same about Saban when he was hired though, in terms of not staying anywhere very long.

104–12 is all you need to know about him. He’ll win.

How is Will Howard? My guess is an upgrade over McCord but haven’t really seen him play.
Very excited for next year. With the amount of players that decided to return plus Judkins (especially if Trey stays) and potential Bama transfers, roster is going to be very good.

Love Will Howard, won my alma mater Kstate a Big 12 title, hope he does good. His problem is interceptions, specifically 1st quarter. He had those in 2021 and 2023 that lost us a few games, but when he didn't in 2022 we won a title, so yeah.

I can give context since I grew up in SD while DeBoer was there as well. Dude’s an absolute stud. You’ll hear his time at University of Sioux Falls (USF) referenced. When he was there, it was an NAIA school. USF transitioned to NCAA D2 shortly after he left. He was a all-American WR for USF in the mid-90s (was also a college baseball player) and was part of USF’s NAIA football championship in 1996. He was their OC from 2000-2004 and when USF’s longtime coach retired, DeBoer took over and won 3 NAIA titles in his 5 years as HC. The NAIA success allowed him to jump up to the D1 coordinator level and he has succeeded at every stop during his climb.

I hate myself for having some renewed optimism for USC's season next year. Washington no longer looks scary. Michigan might lose Harbaugh, McCarthy, and both RB's. LSU's losing Daniels. Miller Moss looked fantastic against Louisville. We might have a real defense.
We'll probably lose 5 games but I didn't anticipate having any optimism.

Why would you think you’re going to have a real defense?

Grinch being gone alone is a win. Our new DC had a top-20 defense at UCLA. We’ve brought in a really experienced, quality staff. B1G offenses aren’t nearly as powerful as PAC offenses.
I’m really just hoping we can be top-80 next year. It can’t get much worse than the last two years.
Lincoln Riley teams look the same every season, since Oklahoma. Ridiculously talented offense that is somehow still under utilized. And soft defense, especially in the secondary. Undisciplined.

He's a great recruiter though
He’s had Grinch almost the entire time. This next couple years will be telling about what kind of coach he is.
Also I don’t think he’s a particularly good recruiter? Not sure he’s ever had a top-5 class, usually in the 10-20 range, which isn’t great especially at USC.
