Is Clemson back ? Or are they just blowing out bad teams? Glad I bet them at -14.5 earlier in the week
NC State isn't great this year. Everyone was getting hype when Tennessee beat them because they were ranked. I guaranteed they wouldn't be at the end of the season.
He saw Sirriani and thought "i can do worse". Fucking joke. Kill the clock and knowing full well you could still pin em inside the 20 with a decent punt. Michigan is a shitty team too but oh well.

Utah State has accepted the Pac-12's invitation to join. They are the fifth Mountain West school to do so.
Utah State Fresno State San Diego State Boise State Colorado State
along with Oregon State and Washington State, of course.
I think they should stick to them all being "State" schools, but they're also going after Air Force and UNLV from the MW.
Memphis, Tulane, S Florida, and UTSA from the American all recommitted to the conference after the Pac-12 expressed interest in adding them. Might I suggest.. Texas State?

I read that they're interested in Gonzaga too. But, Gonzaga is hoping to get in the Big 12.
Should have known it was only a matter of time. Player says he's only received about $3k of the $100k promised during recruiting. University is saying player wanted more money after the 3-0 start.

Good for him. He has one year of eligibility left, if he keeps his redshirt by not playing five or more games, and he's probably not getting drafted. This is basically his only chance to make money and they're wasting his time. Schools need to be signing these guys to contracts, for the benefit of both sides. It would be absurd to expect anything else but this until then. No way is this bad PR and likely revenue loss worth less to the school than 100k.

Yeah, it seems crazy there isn’t a contract before a kid is expected to pack up and move? Is this the norm? Just a shitshow waiting to happen.

The schools aren’t even supposed to be paying them. What happened here is coaches promised something that the NIL collective never agreed to. That’s why there were no contracts and why he didn’t get any money.

I don't pay close attention but I thought it was rich alumni paying them out of some collective funds. haha. Or some kind of scholarship fund. Isn't this fucking America? You mean to tell me these folks can't figure out how to move money around.

The NIL system is a bit of chaos. Players do not receive any money directly from the schools outside of usual scholarship money. A school's NIL collective (group of wealthy alumni, local business owners, networking with national brands, etc.), which has no official affiliation with the school (ha), is the mechanism by which players get financial compensation. I don't know if there are official contracts involved between players and NIL collectives. It may all be wink/nod/handshake stuff. Which is how you end up with the UNLV situation. But at no point should recruiting coaches be offering fixed amounts of money to players as they don't have the power to dispense that money. And they aren't supposed to be directly coordinating with the NIL collective (ha again).

Awesome. So not much different from the under the table stuff the big schools have been accused of for years. But cash instead of cars and other gifts.

Yeah it's still technically illegal for the school to pay them directly, at least in most states, and still by NCAA rule (I think. It's so murky.) It has to be through a "collective" that is separate from the uni. So like the coaches themselves can't really make those promises.
The Kentucky Blue-White basketball scrimmage was handed over from the university/athletic program to the men's and women's basketball NIL collective(s) so that they could sell tickets to fundraise, just as one example I'm familiar with. But the university itself can't be involved. It's just really dumb overall and has no transparency. And the players get screwed a lot.

It really speaks to how many stupidly wealthy people there are in this country that so many of them are just throwing millions of dollars around to bring kids to their alma mater for no personal gain besides the joy of winning (which it doesn't even really translate to a lot of the time), and aren't even bothering to contractually ensure they keep those kids.
