Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I like that Roo hasn't sold out into being an EDM fest. It's been firmly eclectic since losing the jam centrality in the late aughts. So just like expecting a full sampling of bluegrass or pop isn't realistic, it's not realistic with EDM either.
Bonnaroo was my gateway drug into EDM and since then they've always brought around a handful of good acts (enough to program a whole stage the whole time) each year. Also, just like with other genres, they do a good job booking up and comers.
Jessica Audiffred for instance is a female dubstep artist from Mexico. P cool.
agree with all of that. I'm glad it hasn't morphed to that completely like Forest has. When I started going to Forest it still had a decent mix of other genres but nows it's almost fully gone 100% edm. I still go to EF but find myself seeing less and less artists per year and more time exploring and looking for cool shit in the forest.

Listened to the Roobus pod, one tidbit that stuck out to me was Brad Parker saying that their data shows that at any given time at least 30% of people at Roo are in Outeroo. Makes sense why they keep focusing on improving things out there.
I also believe them when they say that they “look at every comment where Roo is talked about.” Which is also why I think we end up with so many returning acts on lineups. If you read every comment, user cumsnorter on inforoo saying “lineup sucks, the people who book it suck, I hope they die and I fuck their mom at the funeral. Btw book more variety!” Doesn’t weigh as much as the thousands of people on Reddit and Twitter saying “ Please book Tame Impala and Glass Animals again!” Remember like 75% of the crowd are 20 year olds who have never been to Roo before.
it is strange how people seem to love bass music at bonnaroo but every couple years they are like "lets try booking a bunch of house instead".
i know PL has a unique appeal but i feel like a bunch of bass artists would've complemented him better than artists like oliver heldens. i'm not complaining, personally i'm happy to have some more house, just saying its an odd choice.
I imagine the conversation is something like “There are dozens of bass festivals in the south/ midwest market now, so let’s do something that makes us stand out.” Without realizing that a lot of bassheads are like stereotypical metal heads who only listen to that one genre of music.

I've always wanted to know what % of people are on psychedelics at any given time. Is there any data to support my guesstimate of 50%?

lmao maybe if they put a heartbeat monitor in the wristband? I’d love to know this too as long as there was a way to get it without gross invasions of privacy.
But I bet it’s way under 50% up until 2 AM then shoots up to 80%

I noticed that they were mentioning reddit but never inforoo. They hate us.
Also if anyone from bonnaroo is reading this i’m reiterating my suggestion from last year of changing the name of the country giddy-up to “That There Stage”
Somebody said he was a good rapper but don’t confuse him with Mike. who is also on the lineup and a chump. I usually wait for the schedule to check out the gaps to see what all is out there, so I can’t exactly confirm.

You never give a bully attention.
Jokes aside I’m sure they check inforoo. Just include it in “everywhere Roo is talked about.”

At firefly 2021 when tame impala played, I’d bet the number was honestly well over 75% based on the pupil sizes I saw. Had a bunch of psych bands in a row. But like others said, I think it varies heavily by lineup/vibe/time for the day
There are lot of people on psychs LN at Roo but I think y'all are overestimating. 4am? Yeah the % goes up. But at 2am you still got plenty of ungeeked folks. Also depends on if you're counting molly as a psych.

Agreed. Kaliope was a panacea for watching people freaking and geeking. The two nights I went I was fucked up because it was the aftershows. But I just sat there watching people pass by twitching and moving erratically. I’m thinking that probably wasn’t mushrooms or acid though.

i agree 50% is high but i have no idea what percentage i'd guess. i just think people on drugs tend to overestimate how many other people around them are on drugs.
as a guy whose spent a lot of time stone cold sober at bonnaroo and other drug shows, the vast vast majority of people i see are on good behavior. meaning that even if they are on drugs, they aren't a sweaty saucer-eyed jangly mess with puke dribbling onto their tank top.
having said that, it's not uncommon for me to have an interaction with a completely soberish appearing person and then realize via conversational context clues that they are on psychedelic drugs.

Maybe they wanted Fred Again to play Thursday originally but then made him headline Sunday and bumped Pretty Lights.
