Wow listening to Nation of Language and they are skyrocketing up my most anticipated list. I'm not even that into the classic new wave acts but this is dope. Better be after sundown
i don't know who at least half those artists on the gov ball lineup are.
I don’t know most new artists these days! I always thought I was kinda keepin’ up by listenin’ to my local college radio station, but nope. Not even a little bit.
99% sure yes. they celebrated Zaba's 9th anniversary instead of 10th because "next year is going to be busy... " and then they said the same on their most recent Instagram post. I think they haven't been touring much to work on it.
Weak for Coachella standards but still in a year full of weak lineups it's not terrible by any means. Deftones, Blur, bicep, Young Fathers, BCNR, Justice, Jockstrap, Mall Grab. So far this and roo are tied for first I think.

Gesaffelstein, justice and bicep on three dif days.. why can’t Roo ever book one of the more expansive live electronic shows… the house and techno at Coachella is also incredible and we get diplo, two friends, disco lines and galantis… womp womp
Swap our 2nd line EDM acts for Justice, Gessaffelstein, Bicep or even Anti Up (Chris Lake x Chris Lorenzo) and the lineup looks a lot better. Skream x Benga too.

I haven't seen anyone else do it this year, so I've published a list of bands by genre here. I started it from a Reddit post by u/ZakkH, but it was pretty rough (in part, from being compiled by ChatGPT), so I did my best to fix it up (sorry, I don't know shiz about electronic genres) then added Wikipedia and/or Chosic genres as well (limited to 3 per artist). I hope this is helpful.

re: headliners discussion from earlier
I'm not watching wrestling actively these days but everything I hear from fans says that it's in the best place it's been since at least the Attitude Era, hopefully festivals have that same resurgence soon

pro wrestling fan piping up here. what you’ve heard is correct. i’m not sure if wrestling will be as culturally popular as it was in the attitude era simply because there were more eyes on tvs back then but everyone’s looking forward to a good year of wrestling. i hate wwe but can admit that triple h has been a really strong booker and they got cm punk, which was aew’s highest paid guy before he got himself fired. if someone leaves wwe they have a shot at being a top person for aew and if aew doesn’t want them they can go to tna or new japan or any other promotion out there. wrestling’s just in a great spot both for wrestlers and fans. i would be very excited if festivals were like how wrestling is now.
i think a good pro wrestling to 2024 festivals comparison was when aew hyped up a huge new signing and it turned out to be christian cage. that was cool because christian is awesome, but people were expecting someone so much bigger
i’m taking a closer look at the coachella lineup and i think i slightly like bonnaroo more. coachella’s sunday breaks the lineup for me that has to be one of their worst booked days. friday is good because they got lana, justice, deftones, black country new road, mall grab, and a few other names. then saturday is really good with tyler, blur, ice spice, gr*mes (i’m an og fan and never got to see her), skream and benga, hatsune miku, and oneohtrix point never. then on sunday doja cat’s a fun headliner but the only names i’d see that i recognize are khruangbin and jockstrap. lil yachty would be fun but he’s not a draw for me. and i love taking back sunday but i’ve seen them and they tour all of the time
coachella has more gems that aren’t going to play many other places, but i think bonnaroo’s overall lineup quality is better
