So with No Doubt on Sunday now, that could be part of the reason why Sunday is short on artists. Accounting for full sets from Doja Cat and No Doubt, time for changeovers and the midnight curfew, the main on Sunday might only have 5 artists.

Also FYI this is Charlotte de Witte's Overdrive production so yeah, definitely not Yuma. Thinking this is Sahara or Outdoor, maaayybe Mojave if it would fit in there.
FRI late night drive home > Sonora Lil Uzi Vert > Sahara (maybe) Gorgon City might be a DJ set so maybe Sahara or Yuma
SAT SPINALL into a tent, it'll likely be an Afropop DJ set I think Sublime will be later in the day especially if it's their first big show w/ Jakob LE SSERAFIM either main or Sahara Brutalismus 3000, Maz and Mahmut Orhan > Yuma Charlotte de Witte & The Blessed Madonna > Sahara Kenya Grace > anything other than the Sonora and put Mandy, Indiana, Kevin Kaarl and bar italia in there instead (maybe move The Red Pears out to make room)
SUN Hermanos Gutiérrez doesn't feel like a main stage act The Rose later in the day Mdou Moctar and Boy Harsher > Sonora Carin León > Outdoor or main Two Shell > Gobi Barry Can't Swim > Yuma
FRI
- I feel like late night drive home will be out of the Sonora, but I went and put em in there anyway
- Now that we know No Doubt is Sunday, I think we leave Uzi on the Main
- From what Gorgon said about their set being entirely their own music, I feel like it's more likely they play live?
SAT
- Moved SPINALL into a tent
- You could be right about Sublime, and they could be swapped where we have Jungle, I just know the 3 festivals I've been to they've played at, their set was at sunset or earlier, so I'm somewhat inclined to leave them in that Outdoor sunset slot. Granted those were all with Rome, so maybe that does make a big difference.....
- Moved SSERAFIM to the Main
- Moved Charlotte to the Mojave, but I think we should leave Mahmut in the Sahara and Blessed Madonna in the Yuma for now.
- Where should I move Kenya Grace too? Getting Nia Archives feels from her, and thought maybe a similar slot might make sense.
SUN
- Moved Hermanos off the Main
- Struggling to figure out what to do with The Rose exactly. I do agree they should be later, but where/when are we thinking?
- I feel like Mdou will be in the Gobi, but moved em to the Sonora for now. I feel like Boy Harsher might be billed too high for the Sonora? Has anyone billed that high played the Sonora before?
- Sunday is honestly really weird and Carin is one of those names I can't seem to figure out what to do with. We're going to need to break down each stage at some point and really dig into who will be where.
- Could see Two Shell in the Gobi, but do we not think they could be Yuma?
- If we move Barry to the Yuma, who takes his spot? I think he'd work for either stage.
A few thoughts: - Olivia Dean and Korokoko are on there twice - Carin Leon and Jon Batiste feel more likely to be outdoor or main stage acts -I think Barry Can't Swim could be Mojave ala Fred Again.. -Taking Back Sunday and Boy Harsher could be late night Sonora acts -I'd be surprised if Mandy, Indiana isn't in the Sonora -LE SSERAFIM I feel would be main stage or Sahara -Erika on the outdoor feels wrong -If Skepta is a DJ set I think he'd be in Sahara or Yuma -I feel Japanese House is more apt for Mojave or Gobi -Eartheater could be Sonora -I could see Tyla on the main early and Faye in a tent
- Fixed, thank you!
- As I was talking about in the post about, I'm struggling to figure out what to do with Carin. Sunday is super weird and is going to be the hardest day I think. Agreed about Jon Batiste though, will try and move him next round.
- TME just thought we should move Barry to the Yuma, so he seems to be a bit of a toss up right now
- Moved Mandy to the Sonora
- Moved SSERAFIM to the Main
- Moved Erika to a tent
- Is Skepta just doing a DJ set? I was assuming it was live, but I also didn't know he even DJ'd until yesterday.
- Can move JH to Gobi or Mojave next round
- Same with Eartheater
- Agreed, will also make the changes with Tyla and Faye next round
I feel like this thread should be called "Coachella Set Time Predictions." I keep coming in here thinking it's gonna be roo. Just a friendly suggestion. mikey1313
Since there’s always tons of wacky and unexpected placements, I propose less reasoned & logical predictions this year. Maybe you guys will actually get more right!
Tems is way too big for the Gobi, billing aside. She is probably too big for Mojave, honestly. Outdoor or main during the late afternoon.
I saw Barry Can't Swim at Portola, Overmono is the closest comp for the live show at this point and Fred Again is a stretch but not a terrible fit either (emotional electronic act with upwards momentum), I highly doubt he plays Sahara and I'd shift him to a tent, he should be after dark but like those guys think he'll be during the day/sunset so he won't bump up against heavy hitters like Anyma and Bicep.
Lil Yachty is probably too big for Mojave, I bet Sahara.
Coi Leray could be Sahara too like Flo Milli, Latto last year.
I'm not expert but Renee Rapp seems too big for the Gobi too.
Lastly Mdou Moctar seems more like an early Gobi or first on the outdoor. To me anyway.

I think it is possible she ends up in the Gobi because she's been pretty small-time (I think?) until this year, when she seems to be gaining a ton of momentum. And Coachella is early enough to be before anyone can see her crowds at US festivals given her upswing. I do think that if she does end up there, it will be a mess even if she's at like 4 in the afternoon. I do think that something like a 5 or 6pm Mojave slot seems likely.

Man, Sunday IS really weird. There are a lot of names on this day that I feel like "need" to be in the Mojave or somewhere bigger, but there just aren't enough slots to make it work. I'd be curious to see someone else give a breakdown for Sunday on where they think which act will play where & when.

I saw her briefly at Life is Beautiful, where she played the smallest stage and didn't have a very large crowd. I think Gobi would be fine for her.

I go back and forth on her, but for what it's worth she sold out the Greek in LA and two nights at the Fox in SF. She's getting billed much higher at other fests. And she's got some buzz from Mean Girls, which had a good start at the box office (TBD on whether it has legs).
She could maybe do Gobi but she'd need some counter programming.
Okay I'll say it: it's time for a Coachella cum leak, even if its just a dribble. GV can only give us blue balls so many times before someone blows a load so messy that it scrambles the lineup placements.

For some reason I can see the 3 Dom/John shows all being on a different stage. Dom for example could easily be swapped with LE SSERAFIM. But I have no intel

Disagree. She’s gotten much more popular since then, dropped her first full length album and stared in Mean Girls. Look at her placement on Boston Calling. I think she’s definitely in the Mojave or early afternoon outdoor.
Roughly a month ago, someone on Reddit said Clown Core was confirmed for the Sonora. Considering Clown Core indeed is on the lineup, I'm willing to take this as an accurate confirmation.

Thoughts on exploring a similar time placement as to what we saw on the Saturday of 2019 for Friday this year.
Have Lana close down the main with a 11:45 end time and then have Justice start on the Outdoor immediately with Uzi starting in the new Sahara at like Midnight.
I feel like Everything Always screams Main Stage with them getting 3 sets between each other.

It's possible, but probably isn't too smart to actually put that on the predictions, as 2019 was definitely an outlier situation.
