Okay I'll say it: it's time for a Coachella cum leak, even if its just a dribble. GV can only give us blue balls so many times before someone blows a load so messy that it scrambles the lineup placements.
Have a feeling that Friday is going to be off to a slow start with most stages starting around 3-330 (besides Yuma and Sonora)
Why though. Main at 3 is expected but everything else will have some type of music. Theres def gonna be some local acts thrown in there. Sahara will even have some dj just playing cause why not. Same for Yuma.

Because we are down on acts, and we have only six acts in the Mojave based on the leaked list. Compare that to 8 poster acts in the Mojave Friday '23, and 10 poster acts in the Mojave Friday '22.
this thread needs a spicy curveball confirmation to give us something to have to adjust to, thus kicking off a bunch of debates to carry us through these last couple weeks... imagine if we had a leak like Bleachers main at 6:30, the ensuing Blur Outdoor or Mojave argument would make the time just fly by
I remember in 2015 we got confirmations of The Weeknd closing main and Axwell ^ Ingrosso closing outdoor (I think they were the first big DJ to ever play outdoor so we were all shocked, now obviously that's standard) within minutes of each other like a week before the festival and we just collectively gave up immediately.

Til they drop in the Cahuila dancers and stuff in there at 1:30.

Woah. Someone just commented on all the clashfinders the names of the Mojave acts for each day. Source is someone who is a lighting rig for the Mojave.
FRIDAY:
Cimafunk
L’Imperatrice
Chappell Roan
Deftones
Tinashe
Ken Carson
SATURDAY:
Young Fathers
The Last Dinner Party
Jon Batiste
RAYE
Grimes
Hatsune Miku
Charlotte de Witte
SUNDAY:
Mdou Moctar
Olivia Dean
Tems
Unknown Act
Reneé Rapp
BICEP
The Rose
Welp Grimes lining up to play during No Doubt and Blur, no chance I’m catching that now.
Going to have to get in there early Saturday, not missing Young Fathers or Last Dinner Party
I don't think these are in order of performance. There's no reason to think she wouldn't close the tent and be on during Tyler instead considering her billing.

I said POSTER acts. There were 1-2 extra random openers each day on top of the poster acts I named. We are down on poster acts compared to poster acts in prior years.

Production shit plus Grimes would be on in a prime hour at around 8-9. Charlotte and Hatsune got a lot of moving parts. They were very much going to be end of the night acts because of it.
Grimes in there makes me more inclined to think it's a live set (I know we had her in there either way, but if she wasn't in there I would've absolutely assumed Sahara for a DJ set).
No Barry Can't Swim is interesting; Gobi feels way too small for him and Sahara doesn't really make sense, which makes me think Outdoor, though I hope it's not before 5:30 or 6pm.
Ughhh dude it's going to be the Gobi and it's going to be a mess.
Grimes in the Mojave kinda makes sense. Her production probably translates better for that stage rather than whatever mega stage will be in the Sahara.
And I still think people are really overestimating how big Barry Can't Swim's crowd is going to be. Not like it's going to be Fred again 2.0 or anything like that. He'll be fine in the Gobi.

With Ken Carson closing the Mojave and Justice likely the same time closing the Outdoor, seems like we may get Bizarrap correct with that slot conflicting with them.

No, he's not as big as Fred, and his ceiling is certainly well short of Fred's. But, he is absolutely a bigger deal than Overmono were last year and Overmono had the Gobi full.
Do we really think the only counterprogramming to Doja is Do Lab and Yuma?
Unfortunately yes
I don't think this is necessarily the case. Weekend 1 last year had Boris Brejcha in the Sahara overlapping as well. And that was for Frank, which was - in theory - the kind of set Coachella would really want to highlight by having most stages empty. I think at least the Sahara is going, possibly the Mojave instead given Doja's probably got more crossover with the Sahara crowd anyhow than Frank did.
My personal hope is that Barry is closing the Gobi against Doja, a la Disclosure 2013. That's probably the best way to have him in the Gobi.

I missed Overmono W2 but watched the livestream W1, and while it was pretty full, it certainly wasn't overflowing. But even if Barry's not as big as Fred, he's *way* bigger than Overmono, and the Gobi is substantially smaller than the Mojave, and going off the secondhand ticket sales for his tour (pretty much every venue was $150+ after fees), it's going to be fucking packed. Especially since he's bringing the live show.

Of course take with a grain of salt but from Reddit...
heard from a friend of a friend that all stages will be shut down for LDR’s headlining set besides from the DoLab and Yuma per the artist request. im sure this is already known but seems like this is how HLs are going about in the future

That Boris set was pretty dead though and pretty sure $uicideboy$ didn't draw a huge crowd either. Kinda makes sense to cut that slot if hardly anybody will be in there.

Overmono was not even close to full W1.
I was gonna say, Overmono was pretty roomy for me W1.
Mojave and Gobi could also have longer gaps in the middle of the day rather than late starts and early endings. Or some of the sets being longer than 45-50 minutes

I kind of get doing this for Sunday's headliner, though I hate it; at least on Sunday though, people are much more wiped out and likely to crash. But on Friday? Day one? For Lana? Give me a fucking break, I'm calling the consumer protection bureau. That Gorgon City situation will definitely be insane if that's the case.

Are we not expecting Quasar to be going during the headliner?

Not trying to end Friday with an average BPM of 32
