You know it. We were like $83 over. With Carr’s $23M savings and the $30M bump, we’re 64% of the way there. But the downsides are always there - losing good young players to FA chief among them. We proved you can win for the better part of 15 years with pushing the cap to the future. But we don’t have the hardware to show for it. Improbable losses. Crazy endings. Shit happened and more shit happened. Seahawks. 49ers. Vikings. Rams (no-call). We do have the one title but it’s 15 years ago and not something recent enough to fall back on.

This gives me some feels this morning. I've been reading his column for almost 25 years now. Some people criticize him as an access maven and there are definitely things that point to that being true, but I just enjoyed his writing and the way he took you behind the scenes.
I met PK at Kauffman Stadium in August 2019. Talked to him about the Chiefs camp, and other football developments. Told me to keep an eye on Tony Pollard, as Zeke Elliott was holding out from camp at that point.
