Okay I'll say it: it's time for a Coachella cum leak, even if its just a dribble. GV can only give us blue balls so many times before someone blows a load so messy that it scrambles the lineup placements.
Football is like the jam bands of sports. Outside of the U.S. who gives a shit?
Basically started by a rugby player who sucked at rugby and took his toys and went home and made his own sport where the rules worked in his favor.
I feel like the only reason it is so popular is because it is wholly American and violent.
Also the only sport here apart from boxing and MMA that shortens the lives of the people who play it. And the fact that the NFL tried to cover it up after it was proven to do so is gross.
Anyway, I know it is going to the top 5. Probably top 3. Just venting. Come at me, rednecks.

rugby being on this list calls all this into question. Also American football is picking up speed internationally

I will say this: I don't know the statistics, but as someone who played both rugby and American football competitively, I think the latter is more dangerous. Because you're not wearing pads or a helmet in rugby, proper tackling form is more important and you can't lead with your head. In football, everybody took the gear as license to turn themselves into projectiles without regard for all of that.
Of course, this was in the '90s, and injury and concussion awareness/prevention wasn't as much of a thing in the sport back then as it is today, so maybe it's generally better, now...but if I had a kid who insisted on trying a contact sport, I think I'd still rather it were rugby than football.

All these arguments conflating favorite sport with most difficult sport are just silly. Wrestling a lion is much more difficult than chilling with my homies drinking a few cold ones, but I know which one I'd prefer.
I have nothing against rugby but I always feel like it involves people from rugby subculture having to explain why it's Important and advocate for it instead of it being obvious or enjoyable to watch.
Not directed at anyone here - it's a universal dynamic I've seen with rugby.
Is skateboarding really a sport or just a fun thing to do/watch?
From Wikipedia:
Skateboarding is an action fun thing to watch that involves riding and performing tricks using a skateboard, as well as a recreational activity, an art form, an entertainment industry job, and a method of transportation.

Wikipedia is never wrong, you guys.
(Except for the time they banned me for repeatedly editing Captain America’s page to note he’s canonically left handed even though some asshole kept deleting as “trivial”)

Most documented cases of chronic traumatic encephalopathy have occurred in many athletes involved in contact sports such as boxing, American football, wrestling, ice hockey, mixed martial arts, rugby and soccer

An Australian study of 25 retired NRL players showed they had impaired reaction times and concentration compared to the general population.[97][98]
This included Kangaroos player Ian Roberts who had been knocked unconscious 14 times over his professional career.[

Fair point. FWIW, I never meant to imply that rugby is *safe*, in general - just relatively safer than American football.
