Soccer is awesome (I voted football). While we’re talking about it here is an idea to improve the game:
A power play system for common fouls to go along with the existing card system. A simple 2-5 minute (depending on the infraction) sit out starting at the moment of the ensuing free kick. When the player returns they must run along the midfield line to the center of the pitch before involving themselves in play. The main goal of this is to discourage “tactical” fouling and flopping, probably the two biggest eyesores when watching the sport today.
