I think the most glaring omission is still Joey Chestnut although all things considered I'd hear arguments that Miki Sudo is on an even more impressive heater.
Ruth shouldn’t go out early imo. Being GOAT has an icon element in addition to actually being good. Like you can argue that Barry Bonds was better but no one gives a fuck about him like they do Babe Ruth and that matters. (Babe Ruth was also really fucking good)
I also think Ledecky is just a more impressive swimmer.
fwiw I threw out Ledecky's name when Teddy was putting together the final list. I agree that she's a more impressive swimmer and if you want to talk about DOMINANT, she's your woman.
