She’s great too but I didn’t vote out Phelps. And I won’t vote out Bolt. His career was highly impressive. If we were basing it on greatest athlete it should probably go to a decathlete.
basketball players the most elite of elite athletes in many different ways, I agree
Their athleticism is less impressive because they had to be born with the golden ticket of extreme height to enter the field, unlike in soccer or football.
IMHO LeBron belongs in the top couple. I still voted for him hoping to save Simone who is being unfairly targeted. If it works, no saving her tomorrow but still.

I think at this point you have to have a fringe build to be an elite football player, but agree with your overall point that no amount of hard work is gonna make me 6’8”. Can’t make arguments about a sport being accessible or not accessible when 99% of the world is eliminated from contention at birth.

literally all these people are genetic freaks. Maybe besides Brady

All the more reason the “accessibility” argument is dumb then
Beyond size, there's the injury factor as well. Brady played 22 years and missed 16 games due to injury. That's just a crazy amount of availability over the span of a career especially considering he is also the most sacked QB in NFL history. Every sports fan has a list of what could have been players if injuries didn't happen.

That’s part of what’s so impressive about him. He was so good for so long and won so much. It’s undeniable.

Messi is #1 easily, anything else can be debated I suppose.
I have him at 5, but his career has been great. I don't really care that much who ends up winning, but being a little kid when Pele' came to the US makes those two a tossup for me as to who is the best soccer player. Different eras so subjective.
