I am not invested enough in this survivor to care too much but it doesn't seem like there is even consensus criteria on how people are voting.
Is it a state you'd want to live in where you are retired and financially independent? A state where you are just out of college and you're starting a career? Are you averaging the good and the bad parts of the state? Charlotte/Raleigh and rural NC vary pretty widely.
It kinda feels like people are just cherry-picking their favorite parts of the state.
The consensus criteria is “How Good is x state”. Like most survivors you apply your own knowledge and experience to formulate an opinion. For me all states so far should have been Top 10 (of 50) except Arkansas somewhere in the 25-35 range considering I’ve spent a couple of weeks of my life there and driving around it. Glad to help.
I was actually thinking it wouldn't be the worst idea to reboot some of the years-old survivors. New and old board members come and go. Opinions change overtime etc. Could add in some new options and take out others.

So you think there's only 5 other states that are better than the ones already ranked?
I realize that it's subjective based on people's lived experience but Georgia and Vermont are so vastly different that I can't see the criteria on how they're both top 10 (out of 50).

Ray Charles did that song about Georgia, and Noah Kahan did that song about Vermont. They’re basically the same.

Maybe Georgia would be 11-25 range? But otherwise, Hawai'i, Oregon, California and Vermont are in my elite tier of states. North Carolina is up there for me personally. I rate it higher than most because there have already been states ranked too low in this poll. Ones I'd add to the elite tier status - Washington (state), Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, New York and of course Alaska because that's a world all to itself and lots of different things.

Really think 11 or 12 makes more sense than 8. 8 should probably be for something like TN, PA, Ohio, Illinois.. etc. While I really like NC, I don't know if it has enough personality to separate itself enough from the other shit around it.
Bottom tier states in no order: Kansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, West Virginia, Louisiana, Iowa, Utah. This doesn't mean any of these states is completely irredeemable. I can think of several things in each one of them that's kind of awesome except maybe Kansas and Iowa. Kansas does have Liberal, Kansas. And they have a lot of pigs and some of the Quad Cities are in Iowa. Speaking of the Quad Cities, I haven't thought of them in a while. Maybe Moline, Illinois is one of them with Dubuque or Davenport or some shit. Gotta go look that up: Davenport and Bettendorf in Iowa and Rock Island and Moline in Illinois.

Utah is absolutely beautiful. Sure, there are a lot of Mormons, but California has a bunch of Scientologists, and we ranked them #1!

That's fair if it's truly just personal feel. While I expected a strong bias on inforoo dot com for the southeastern states, I was a bit puzzled to see new England one rate high because they're effectively polar opposites. I'd definitely take Connecticut and Rhode Island over Vermont and Massachusetts at the very least.
For big states like CA, NY, Texas people I guess just need to define their own criteria. If NY is top 5 for people then you almost have to include NJ.

Sure it is. So is plenty of West Virginia and Arkansas. There are lots of weirdos in both of those states, and I'm not referring to religion necessarily. But CA > UT
per inforoo survivor Cookout is superior to Long John Silver's, White Castle/Krystal, Hardee's/Carl's Jr, Burger King, Sonic, Checker's/Rally's, Krispy Kreme, Panda Express, Dairy Queen, Starbucks, Arby's, and Steak & Shake.

Most of us are more aligned more socially and politically (if not economically) with the northeastern states than our own home turfs. I got nothing too much against New Jersey itself but NY >
North Carolina is the first state i ate Cookout in. i couldn't believe i could get a corndog as a side dish with my burger, and so many milkshake options. Easy #2.
Well Georgia is first state I ate Cookout in so I guess we are going to have to fight. See you at the Ferris Wheel.

That's all fair. It slightly begs the question of whats keeping people in these states they don't like, but to each their own.

It’s not stopping people from moving down south that’s for sure. Every time I bring up moving my wife either thinks I’m joking or just says we can’t afford to.
