State Survivor Round 13: Texas

This would have been a fun back and forth, but I don't think we should allow this sidequest to distract from the main goal of getting Texas to at least 5 now.

I've been to/through Texas exactly four times. I've been to Houston for approximately 8 hours, where I flew in, drove somewhere for a work meeting, ate lunch somewhere unremarkable, and drove back through the same stretch of concrete to fly back home. I've been to a two-day conference at the airport hotel in Dallas, where I did not leave said airport or hotel, but I did have a nice steak dinner at the hotel restaurant. And I've been down the stretch of Route 66 that goes through Amarillo twice, where my wife and I stayed at the illustrious, total class Big Texan Steak Ranch, and we gazed upon the glory of Cadillac Ranch. (See below.) I would like to visit Austin, but other than that, I don't feel a special trip to Texas is necessary for me at this point.

I’d say Hawaii and California’s beaches are definitely better than Florida’s. What makes Florida’s beaches better than the rest of the East Coast?

Cali water is too cold. Florida has way more coastline than anywhere else besides Alaska so having more nice beaches seems pretty obvious.
