It was an accident. I was drunk, and it's a little circle in my left palm. I considered finishing it up into the Bonnaroo circles, but better judgement took hold.

"better judgment???" I call it wimping out
haha, i was sooo trying to get him to complete the branding while he was still drunk
oooh yeah I like henna, very pretty. I chance my mind way too often for the permanent stuff.
Haha I love this! Especially since the first thing you did when you got back from Roo was get a permanent tattoo of a picture of a girl's Henna tattoo that you took at Roo.
did anyone else get a Rootoo? there was this really cool artsy band with this guy who had this crazy headress on. He was playing the bass while someone else played the trumpet and another person played a really simple drumset, and these girls were giving out these "Rootoos" by applying them with face paint and a stencil... the stencil was a really cool looking "B"
they were set up at the main entrance on sunday, but I'm sure they were going all around Centeroo doing it... it was a nifty experience.

In 2004 I went to bonnaroo with my three best friends that i've had since 8th grade and we SO wanted to find a legit looking tattoo place at Roo (i know, what are the chances) to get friendship tattoos. needless to say, it was a bust, but we vowed that we would make the tattoos part of our roo trip, even if we couldn't get them while we were there. The three of us (one friend opted out) spent our roo trip tossing around ideas and ended up jointly designing our tattoo. We're all fire signs and night owls, so we drew a crescent moon with flames around it so it sort of looks like part of a sun, with the kanji symbol for friendship inside. We all got them on the outside of our left ankles (the pokey out bone part). Our last stop on the drive home from roo was our local tattoo shop, where we even tipped the artist with some goodies we'd picked up at the fest. I'll try to find a pic... (of the tattoo, not the goodies ) It made bonnaroo that much more awesome and now we have permanent artwork commemorating our friendship and bonnaroo
I saw a guy this year that had a bonnaroo tatto. It was the 04 green three rings logo. I dont know where he got it. If they had a ligit tat artist in Centeroo that would be cool. But I dont see it happining in the campground, that would get shutdown faster than a nitrous tank.
i would say getting a tattoo at bonnaroo would be an all around bad idea, you have to take care of it for the first two weeks or so to get it to heal right (keep it clean), you absolutely don't want to get it in the sun, tat artists won't tattoo on you if your sunburned, not to mention the pain in the assness of bumping up against someone's fresh tattoo at a late night show and feeling the squishy puss/blood oozing out onto your not to be washed soon self...etc

i getting the tat on my back finished before i leave for roo. i'm excited b/c i've had the outline for like 7 months. sucks being poor.
Get it done well in advance so its soaked in some.
I'm getting some more done Sunday.
yea, i'm finishing mine up either this weekend or next depending on how much detial i decide on. but i really wanted to make sure that the same artist that started gets to finish it. i should be good by the time i get to the roo.

Yep. I got one. The girls were funny...they wouldn't say anything to you, just give you this weird smile when you said thank you. Hahaha...that was a riot. I hope they're there again this year.

My tattoo takes up my entire left flank of my upper body from my armpit down to my beltline. Now the tattoo at the armpit hurts like great oden's wrath.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
