Honestly my armpit didnt hurt as bad as my leg, which hurt very bad.
Well it was just the fact that it is sensitive as hell, and not used to having something poking me there for an hour was what made it bad for me. I am also hoping to add to it before going to roo but might be held off for money purposes.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

I've got an upside-down cross on my ankle... no it's not an anti-christian (though oddly enough I don't consider myself a christian) ... I figure as a "femalian" who is very proud of her last name and may one day have it changed I wanted to get it tatooed on me... It happens to be St. Peter (odd that I dont mind putting that on a message board) who was crucified upside-down so it's St. Peter's cross...
I like it's significance... I want more but I have to have ones that have real significance and frankly I either can't make up my mind or really cant think of anything that has that much meaning to me

and then hope you never have to get that thing lazer removed... or at least have a prenup that says she pays for the lazer removal of it in the case that it becomes necessary
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
i'm going where the sun keeps shining, thru' the pouring rain, going where the weather suits my clothes. backing off of the north east wind, sailing on summer breeze, and skipping over the ocean like a stone.
tara, did you get your tattoo brown like the henna too ?
no and i really regret it, i thought about that afterwards and it would have been way cooler. it is my first tattoo so it never occurred to me until later to do it in something other than black.
unfortunately (and sort of fortunately) since i got it done in the summer (and didnt listen to that "no sun" rule) it has faded a bit. my cousin is a tattoo artist so he is going to see if after this summer (and another layer of tan!) he can go over it in dark brown. so we shall see...
by the way love the gustov klimt painting in your post... his tree of life painting is what i've been thinking of for my next tattoo inspiration

ooo yes klimt is fantastic. wow, you're right about his paintings being good tattoo inspiration... especially when you consider the process he goes through to make them, drawing&painting the nudes and then covering them up with blankets of flowers and patterns. so beautiful!
your mention of henna got my gears churning about possible ideas for doing some body art before roo. maybe if my whole back is covered with an intricate design, it might distract from the fact that i'm covered in grease and grime? ah, well, it's bonnaroo

I actually have a line sketch of a ballet dancer done in pink on my right hip. I love it, just got it done Friday. Since I've been dancing since I was small, I figured dance was the only thing important enough to me to have on my skin for the rest of my life! I love my tattoo, but it hurt so I don't think I'm going to get another one, but who knows, I might change my mind.
Last year we just brought a bunch of paint and wound up painting ourselves. Henna is nice, but if you come up with something crazy at least you dont have to worry about it staying on for a month or so!
