I've got everything ready to go to help organize via the website (http://roovip.grassrootsportals.com)
There's now a report tab that will show you the report of who's registered for the group. Use the small printer icon at the top right to print off the page which includes names, arrival times, gear, small photo, etc for each camper.
We've got 4 Inforoo members registered in the Tent group thus far. I know there's more of you out there. Please take a few short minutes to post your profile on the site.
I've also just posted the lineup for the main stages and the tents on the site. It's available in iCalendar format in case any of you Mac users wanna load it up in iCal. You can download the iCalendar file at roovip.grassrootsportals.com/lineup if you're interested.

I heard that the VIP pre-party Thursday night is open bar. Free drinks from 5-12 that night. Also I heard that they sell 1 dollar beers in the VIP section (hopefully it won't come to that b/c I'm bringing a lot of my own)

I'm having trouble opening this iCal file in iCal. I get an error message: "This calendar file is unreadable." I have iCal 2.0.3. Has anyone else had any trouble loading the posted version of the file?
Doh... guess that's why I'm not a software tester I created it in Mozilla Sunbird, but didn't actually test it in iCal. I just tried it and got the same error. I'll see if I can't fix it this evening. I'll post back if I can. Sorry

I don't remember free drinks Thurs night, although I could have forgotten. And we did get beer for a discount, maybe $1-2 less than what everyone else was payin', but not a buck a beer. But plenty of free food that, although not gourmet, more than filled hungry stomachs when firing up the grill was just too much effort after a long day in the sun.
We have 6 groups registered on the website representing 15 total campers. One group (4 people) is in RV, the rest are in the Tent camping group. The Tent camping group will be kicked off by lousydog at 10AM.
Please make sure to print off the report as you head out to make sure that you get anyone added between now and then... roovip.grassrootsportals.com/report
It's getting sooooo close
I'll be at work today during the day and available to address any issues/questions with the website until about 4PM central. Then it's off to home and the mad packing effort tonight so I can leave in the morning.
Hey guys - how are all of you? I have a question. going vip - there are 4 of us in one car - we have two giant tents an a shade tent. Will we be given enough space to set up w/ only one car or should we bring two cars? I really don't want to bring two cars but I do like my space - comments please.......
I'm going for the first time, but I have been reading the board a lot...
I would think you're fine in the VIP area. The VIP camping is much more spread out. If you look at the overhead pictures, they seem to confirm this.
We'll be trying to get an Inforoo camp together as well so we can all hang out together and watch after / party with eachother. I think the first one to arrive will by lousydog.
If you want everyone's contact info to meetup, just go to roovip.grassrootsportals.com and create yourself a login. Then login and add your Vip Profile so we can have your info as well and can try to plan to make sure you've got space for your stuff. Of course, there's no guarantees, but the general consensus is that we should be able to find a good spot together.
Thanks Babel - see you there - I want to puke I am so excited.
Lori, I feel the same way & I'm so glad you said something about it because I thought I was the only one. I hope it passes soon because I really can't pack when I feel like I'm going to blow chucks everywhere .... j/k, of course, because sh!t has to get packed regardless!
Thanks. I would have to say that all I did was some basic configuration and a little bit of coding for the VIP Profile thing. The whole thing is based on an open source project called Plone (http://www.plone.org). I've been a user for years. There's about a hundred developers worldwide volunteering their time to build it, so I couldn't take all the credit.
It's also the same system they use to organize Burning Man every year I met some of the webmasters at a conference recently. Hope some of them make it to the roo, they were great fun and really nice people.
I'm 15, my dad is 50, we're both doing VIP for our first year because of all the great bands (RADIOHEAD, OYSTERHEAD, TOM PETTY). We want to take advantage of the close VIP deck
jspeedy, we'll see you there. If you're referring to the deck right over the stage, I think it's been determined that that's for the real VIP people, not just those who pony up the extra cash like us However, there are VIP bleachers that are about mid-way back from the crowd. I don't know for sure, but that seems to be what people say.
jspeedy & gaebryl - Come looking for the Inforoo group in VIP. We've got about 21 people, 7 in RV's, the rest in camping that'll try and camp together. See you soon
My boyfriend an I are first time VIPer's coming in from Austin, Texas. Can anyone join the camping group?
The more, the merrier, Jaguar! At this point, it's pretty much a question of logistics - who gets where when, and how much space can be saved by early arrivers (of which I hope to be one).
I understand. Unfortunately, we have to fly and will not get in to Nashville until 11:30, so by the time we get the rental car, beer, etc. we probably won't get there until the afternoon sometime. Looking forward to meeting some cool folks!
Rooskew - Since you have been to Roo before, do you know how bad the traffic gets on I-24 between Nashville and Manchester on Thursday around 1 pm? We are not quite sure what we are going to have to deal with.

Jag-
I don't know personally... we came from the other direction last year and are coming again that way (plus, we got there Wednesday night last year). I would really scrutinize and use the VIP directions they sent you- they will likely get you off the beaten path before traffic gets too crazy. From what I heard of last time, that's a peak time but it's really just a dead stop near the main entrances.
