dear fellow rooers, my friends and i will be coming friday around noonish. yes, that is a day late. are they more likely to thouroughly search the car because there wont be many coming in late, or more likely to say fuck it and let us go? thankssssssssssss
Here is a thread dedicated to the incoming search. It says VIP but the thread has evolved into discussing all areas.
I think as far as whether you'll be searched. I think you definitely have more of a chance of getting searched thoroughly if you get there exceptionally early, like Wed night.
By noon Friday, most people will be in already so you may experience a more thorough search at that time.
It really is a crap shoot, just so random that its impossible to give good advise on the "what time to get there question"
So I'm taking the greyhound from Minnesota to Manchester and planning on walking to the site. Will it be easy to find the way, and which is the best way to get in walking?

Last year I didn't drive, so Ihave no clue which way we came, but it was definitely backroads and we got put in BFE. This year, I will be driving and have no clue which way to go. I'll be going east bound, which is the best way to go (interstate, backroads, what exit, etc) and if one of the exits gets closed will we still be able to get off somewhere without going down farther and turning around?

That is a kick ass map bro. From wal-mart we took Asbury rd. to Clifton Scott rd. to Cornelison rd. to New Bushy Branch rd. We ended up border line B.F.E. but it rocked anyways because we didnt have to wait in line in the car and had plenty of time to set-up and meet neighbors.
The map is amazing, thank you. You will not have to walk from the bus station. Hold up a sign that says "Headed to Bonnaroo" or "Bonnaroo bound" or something like that and you'll get a ride in seconds. Save you strength for the roo ;D

Last year we camped in Chattanooga (coming from Massachusetts) on Wednesday night. Some friends of ours did similar, but camped in the WalMart parking lot in Manchester (crazy times). We were on the road at 5am(EST), and arrived in line about an hour later (5am Central time) We got into the camp site around 6am Thursday morning, and were sent to Camp Dr. No, in the SE corner of the Farm. We were in the back, which really sucked. If they had opened the main venue back entrance, it would have been really convenient and easy. As it was, most of the time we had to walk all the way around the VIP area to the main Centeroo enterance. About at 2 mile walk each way, we estimated. We ended up doing 2 trips each day generally, an afternoon trip, then return for a little while to eat and drink some more before going in for the night. I actually didn't mind where we camped as it wasn't too cramped and the people were really cool, and we ended up being really close to our other friends who we went down with totally separately (the Walmart ones). We were also able to easily drive out on Sunday night late to avoid traffic. Other friends were trapped in the middle of a sea of tents, with little space and totally unable to move anywhere.
