So, does "VIP Entrance" mean a VIP entrance into the festival or just to the stage area?
I'm wondering b/c I really, really don't want to sit on the highway for hours. I've heard horror stories.
It means a seperate VIP traffic entrance. But there is also a seperate VIP Stage entrance as well.
The GA traffic really isn't that bad anymore. 5 years ago, yes it was horrendous. 4 years ago it started to get better. 3 years ago the kinks were getting worked out. 2 years ago I spent until sunday until I talked to somebody who spent in more than a few hours of traffic. The Horror stories are almost strictly from the first year, and from people like me who spent 14 hours travelling 5 miles. Seeing the sun set then rise on the highway was not fun.
However, they have really worked out a good traffic plan now. I actually spent MORE time in traffic at the VIP entrance last year (about 90 minutes) than I did at the GA entrance in 2005 (5 minutes). That was partially b/c the line to get into VIP actually opened on time vs GA which opens wednesday night every year. Still, though, VIP is worth the $$ no doubt. I don't necessarily think the "VIP entrance" is a good selling point, however, and wouldn't count it among the ammenities of VIP.

So is this off the highway VIP entrance the big secret? b/c on another thread someone was leaving pictures as clues to where it was located, but never saying where it was. I just want to be able to get off the highway and into the festival with ease...
Yes, I am still around. I just hadn't been on the forum in a while. I had planned to send out the e-mails and whatnot as the time got closer.
It seems that it's now underway, so those of you that had messaged me can go by this thread. Indigo has it under control..
I am still planning to go VIP, and I have my tickets. It is now going to just be two of us.. I'll have the confirmation on who is going with me within the next few days. There has been a change of plans..

What about the 'secrit hideout'? Is that open on Wednesday, or are we all daisy-chaining one line of traffic to the other? I guess what I'm asking is, do things move any faster for VIP if you get there on Wednesday?

Hey, new guy here. Been lurking for awhile now. Great Site!
We're staying VIP. My wife was down in '05 and says we should be able to get in on Wed. night, but earlier in this thread someone said VIP will NOT open before the posted time. Can I get some clarification on that?
From what I understand you have to go to the secret location to pickup your swag, get bracelets, car decal and directions to VIP entrance. This doesn't open until 7/8am on Thursday so arriving earlier doesn't really seem to be a benifit unless you just want to chill in the lot.

And what exactly is 'on time' for VIP?
Good questions--anyone got answers?
When you get your VIP tickets on 5/20/07-ish, it will have a map to the location where you must go first before entering Bonnaroo. There they will give you VIP goodies, wristband and a sticker for your car so you can enter the property through the VIP entrance. Your ticket package will also list the time to arrive - you will be just wasting time if you arrive too early. Last year it was Thursday morning, but since Thursday is now considered a festival day, it may change.
As far as the question about daisy-chaining it to the other location, I guess there would be a small line if several people head out at once, but since there are a limited amount of VIP'ers, I didn't see any conjestion. Also, keep in mind that a lot of people are meeting up at that location, so there was some parking-lot partying, etc. so not everyone was in a rush to set up camp.
Last year, I believe you were allowed to enter the secret place at 10am, but we slept in at the hotel and got there at 1pm. There was a short line of 10 or so couples at check-in. It took about 7 to 10 minutes to check in and get the sticker put on my car, and then we were setting up camp 15 minutes later. It was a very smooth, laid-back process.

THANK YOU! You just answered all of my questions! *hug*
For those in the northeast, anyone think over the weekend - man, this weather sure is nice...but I wish I was in TN, on a farm, with live music playing...
Last year we rented an RV in St. Louis and pulled in around 5 PM Thursday night. We had no wait and got a decent parking spot. We decided this year to save the RV money and buy a big honking tent (10x15). It looks to me like there was plenty of VIP room last year- is pulling in around noon going to give us enough room to set up, spread out and be friendly?

for the people that have done the whole VIP/RV thing before, is it possible to leave on sunday night? I'm a little worried about maneuvering a massive vehicle through people's camps
should i ask for a spot on the edge for an easy sunday exit? or is there ample room to do so as is? OR is it entirely hopeless to even think of getting an RV out of there sunday night?
The RV's in VIP are parked apart from tents. We did a pull through so we faced the aisle because the RV had to be back in St. Louis by 10 AM or there was a late fee (we didn't make it) so we took off early Monday morning and had no problems. Just pulled out down the line to the road and they already had parking crew to guide us out. Several people pulled out Sunday night, no problems!

as always, THANK YOU
No problems with leaving on Sunday night, just turn your headlights on
"They" do not tell you where to park, they just direct you to the RV area. Then you take a spot of your liking. The spots are marked out with white lines.
Just look around and watch where and who you park next to. You don't want to be around some loud smelly generator all weekend.
Some things have changed majorly and I am actually going to be moving across the country towards the end of June.. so I'm not going to go to Bonnaroo this year. It sucks and I was looking forward to it, but it's just not a good decision right now.
I bought a pair of VIP tickets and don't know what to do with them! I was thinking EBay.. but do any of you on here want to buy them? I'd rather sell them as a pair unless I can get two people that for sure want to buy them. PM me if you're interested.
Also I have a tent that is brand new and still in the box. It's for 8 people with a 5 foot screened in porch that doesn't have a floor in it.. (the tent has a floor, just not the porch!)
Hope you guys have an awesome time. Maybe next year!
