Last year, a friend and I went GA. We slept in chattanooga sp? Wednesday night, then woke up the next day and drove to Roo. We arrived around 10 am, I believe, and spent about 2 hours waiting in line on the side of the interstate. After entering, we made it through search and made the mad dash into the crazy line of cars waiting to be parked. We were directed to Camp Apollo Creed which was packed full. The people were packed in so tight it looked miserable. We had a huge suberban and we were the last people they parked right on the edge. We lucked out. Great camping spot only about a 10 minute walk to Centeroo and we had all the space left over to put up our pop up and tent. If we had been as crammed in as other people the pop up would not have been possible. Now do not think of us as bad neighbors, we shared the pop up to anyone and everyone who asked. I probably spent 40 to 50 dollars a day on food and drink. Thats like 200 just on the stuff keeping me alive! Each trip into centeroo was a hassle going through the main gate.
Point of the story is... We lucked out this year with a great spot with ample camping space. But next year we may not be so lucky! Me and my girlfriend will be purchasing VIP tickets this year. We already have the money set aside plus some depending on the ticket price.
VIP is so worth it just looking by the numbers. We bought our tickets for full price, plus 200 on food, plus 160 for a hotel room the night before! The hotel room was to assure we would arrive at optimal time at exit 112 to get a good spot by the way. We can just drive straight to roo this year saving hotel money. Buffet and discount drinks will keep survival cost much lower for us. Plus showers, easy entrance to the centeroo area, great camping spot, and awesome people to be around! I cannot wait for VIP! Hope to see you guys there!
I too am debating on VIP this year though Tent Only was great last year once we were set up.
gatrd:
There is a line you have to get in I think about 3 hours before the show but I might be wrong on the time. It just did not seem worth it to me so I don't know the particulars on how long before you have to wait in line.
That was the Mosh Pit. You had to wait in a lineup and before the band came on, you got shuffled in depending on the amount of people in front of you. I was in there for Widespread Panic. Was amazing! I didn't think it was that big though!! Oh Well!
Only at the main stage. I would be surprised if MMJ would be on that stage but I could be wrong. If they are, I'm in the mosh pit too. BTW, its called the mosh pit, but its the MOST calm area around. Noone pushes, everyone is happy, no out of control people that I saw.

Great name and thanks for the info.
Yeah I think it would be kind of weird seeing a bunch of hippies moshing around. I think that might be filed under signs that the apocolypse is near.
I'm confused by a couple of comments that people have made. My husband and I will be coming in an RV with our 2 teenage sons (14 and 15), and possibly another teenager and plan to do VIP. Are children with their parents not allowed in VIP?
Rather than starting a new thread how about i rehash this old one.
My first Bonnaroo was 2010, but i am seriously considering going VIP this year. Can anyone who went last year let me know if it was worth it. Would you do it again?
My main gripes with GA were the filthy porta potties. I understand VIP has AC bathrooms and decently nice showers.
The other perk would to be within 5 mins walking distance to my campsite, but is this for all VIP or just some? Also can anyone who went VIP the last few years tell me if the searches are a bit easier
VIP/RV (bringing my own trailer) glassware in trailer? love micro-brews and belgiums need good beer there bottled in glass? can i bring mini kegs of micro-brews and or Belgium thanks
this is my second roo for me and my gf, first time VIP-ers, hoping its all its cracked up to be. Last year almost had to go the medi-tent, probably should have but instead sat in car with ac blaring for bout an hr (my car was luckily in the midst of cars and not tents), hoping to have an even more awesome time this year in VIP. I know there was another thread on here about this, is it connected to the same thread?
