RooVirgins in VIP land with RV. Yes, boomers and a big apology for that. But some questions for the VIP vets. So where ARE the bleachers for VIPers? Can someone point them out on one of the aerial maps that I see here? Can the bands be seen/heard to make it a good option or should we squeeze into the crowd? And do VIP get any early entry or access to prime real estate at the big two stage areas? And, for any VIP RVer's: how does one arrange for honey-pot services (AKA, suck out the s$%t, refill the water tanks)? I heard no fuel delivery, correct? Will they actually come on-board an RV and search for booze at entry? Is the VIP camping area entry access really such that we can avoid all the "hours-long lines on the interstate" everyone in GA reports? And can you drive in and out at will or are you parked for the duration? If so, is there a way (taxis, shuttles) to get away for a few hours if the action just gets too hot? Can you see the big-screens and hear the tunes from the roof an RV? Lots of questions...any answers????
I think some of the maps show you bleacher location, We only been on the one for the "What" stage. Never bothered with the one for the "main" stage.
VIP does not get in any earlier to see the shows.
The suck truck and water truck drive around. I think they were getting around $50 per pump out. I don't know how big your holding tanks are but on my camper I have 22 gallon black tank and I do not need to be pumped out for the four days we are there. This is with four people in the camper.
Water is expensive, the water truck gets $50 per fill. This is weather you take 5 or 100 gallons of water. Get some 7 gallon water containers and fill the camper yourself. You can get the water from the wash station in the VIP area.
No fuel delivery
They did not search our camper.
We had no waiting in lines and I don't know about driving in or out. Once we were parked we never left.
You will more then here the music from the main stage in the VIP area. Depending on where you park the camper you could see the screens from the top of your camper.

Thanks, bug. Much more helpful than the general stuff scattered elsewhere. Black tank not a problem (unless the food is REALLY bad) but gray always seems full (showers)...don't dig running to a campgound shower, but if they are clean and cool, good bet I will. 50 bucks an unbelieveable rip-off...actually believeable since it is at the fest. Maybe I will do as you say and just bring a water trolley. I have a motorhome. I expect the generator will be going going for AC, so is there a gas station near campground entance to get a fill-up prior to parking 'er? BTW, does it cool down enough at night to not use the AC (pitty those tent campers if not). Why have you not used the main stage bleachers? How where they at the "What" stage? What are the hours of the two big stages? Do you need ear plugs to sleep?
Can't help you with the gray water problem...My gray water always seems to evaporate overnight.
For filling your fresh water, again 7 gallon water containers with a radio flyer cart of some kind and a hose. There is water available at the wash station where you can fill them up.
How many gallons of freshwater does your motor home hold? If it is over 50 gallons then the water truck is not that bad of a price.
There are gas stations in Manchester, so fill up before you enter the grounds and you should be fine for the weekend. We only run our generator in the morning, when we stop back for a late lunch and before bed when taking showers. The AC was not needed at night for us, it was in the low 70's at night. Give the camper a cool down at night when the sun goes down and you should be good to go.
We did not use the bleachers on the main stage I guess because we were happy hanging out on the lawn. The "Which" stage bleachers we used.
Hours of main and What stage are noon till midnight.

Thanks again, bug! Evaporation is an amazing process . Looks like the bleachers are in the very back. Been years since I did a major event like this: do folks really stand all day??? They use to sit... So, I will add binocs to the goodies list. And ear plugs. Please keep checking back, bug, since I will have more questions... Happy Easter everyone!
As far as the standing, most of the people in the front stand. People who hang out more toward the back have a blanket (neet sheet) and sit. This is my setup, a chair with a beach umbrella nylon tied to the chair. I lower the umbrella so it's right above my head. I keep to the back of the crowd. You need to keep cool. I also use the umbrella in the bleacher area, you need to sit up on the top row. Just bring the extra nylon ties...

I'm kinda in a rock and a hard place. I have a post in the Tickets Wanted thread but I'm not having any luck. I'm looking for an additional VIP parking pass. Do you guys know if a single VIP ticket holder can purchase a VIP RV pass from the official site?? I'm trying to maximize my real estate but it's not looking hopeful.

I already have an RV upgrade but let's assume I sell my other VIP ticket to someone that wants to bring an RV. How do they go about obtaining a RV upgraded parking pass?? What I'm trying to do is get a second RV space to park the trucks in and possibly bringing one of those kiddie plastic pools and paying to have the RV water supply truck fill it up. Bonnapool.

Got it !!
More then likely if you sell your single ticket it will be to a person who is going with other people. Whether that be in tent section or RV.
You could always email Bonnaroo and ask them what if.
Don't worry about the extra space, no one parks you. They just direct you to where the RV's are. You claim your own space.
Your pool fill will cost you..Last year they were getting $50 per fill, and that is if you needed 10 or 100 gallons of water. It's a bargain if you have a big coach or a camper that holds more then 50 gallons.

oh my god a bonnapool... i love it. If all the vip camp inforooers throw in a couple bucks after we get there it's not so bad to pay for that...

The more I think about it, it's not such a good idea for a Bonnapool. It would be tremendously hard to keep all the grass out of it, the risk of drowning by someone overly intoxicated and the biggest drawback is realizing some jackass decided to use it as a toilet.
We did not use the bleachers on the main stage I guess because we were happy hanging out on the lawn. The "Which" stage bleachers we used.
Pics of Which stage from bleachers.
I might be misunderstanding you, but are the VIP bleachers really this far from the stages? I was picturing the VIP bleachers allowing people to get up close and personal to the stages.
P.S. I just bought my VIP tickets last night and joined this forum. I'm a first-timer, been mainly to smaller fests like Summer Camp and 10K Lakes. I couldn't sleep last night I was so excited. ;D
The picture was taken obviously with a camera and a wide angle lens. I can post a picture taken from the same spot with more zoom on it. Again the view from the bleachers in more then fine. Did you think you were going to sit on the stage? ??? Sorry to disappoint..
bleacher pros? seats. glorious seats to get off your feet in the middle of the day. Clear view of the stage. Maybe not right next to the stage, but good enough that it will be a nice respite when I'm tired of fighting for some elbow room mid-crowd.
I just really look forward to a midafternoon nap under one of the big trees in centeroo. aaaahn.
I'm starting to get very excited.
My shopping list to complete what I had in '05
1. an extra tarp or two. 2. that fake green grass stuff, to cover the coarse 'roo grass. 3. 5-day cooler, a good one. 4. EZUP Tent from cabelas. 5. A small camp table. 6. Double A's for meh paper lanterns. 7. Two camelbacks and mister attachments. 8. Tent seamproofer stuffs. 9. Two pairs o' crocs.
I think I'm going to wait until around memorial day to purchase a lot of this stuff, since they tend to run sales around then. What do you guys think?
And about mimosas, i have some peach flavored and strawberry flavored champagne left from New Years unopened, think that would be good with some juice of some sort? sounds good to me.

Hello everyone. This is our (wife and I) first 'ROO' and we're both very exicited about the adventure. We've been going to concerts for years and years, yes we're a little older, but it's been a very long time since we've set out on a multi-day event. I have one basic question before I innundate you guys with the more mundane questions like 'what to bring' etc: What's the VIP 'community' like at Bonnaroo? Standoffish? Friendly? Sharing? Considerate? You get the idea...BTW, wife was a 'deadhead' back in the day and wonders if there's any comparison.
I think it's a wide variety out in the general admission camping. in '05 i had a standoffish neighbor, a nice neighbor, and others are more considerate. It's going to vary, but mostly the vibe is very good.
There is a lot of information on this site, some of which I've linked to about VIP in the first post of this thread. The "convince me to go VIP" thread is extremely helpful on answering some general questions and you can find a map of the lay of the land.

Thanks! We'll be in a tent, which brings me to a more mundane question: Are we restricted on tent size? It's not like I want a canvas 'Taj Mahal' but I would like to use a 14' x 10, 6 man tent with attached screen room...plus an "EZ Up" 10' x 10 shelter...too much?
space is not so much an issue in VIP, as many people have mentioned. I have a 10x6 two room tent and will have an EZUP, and some will even have larger setups. VIP is not as cramped as GA, although you could probably get away with all that there too.

So here's a question, and I've been lurking here for quite a while, so I'm not sure if it's been answered.
We'll be VIP, car only, and will be rolling in sometime Thursday afternoon.
I've seen people ask about the best time to show up for GA, but what about VIP? Is there an advantage to showing up earlier or later for VIP? Are people guided into their spots like in GA? Proximity to bathrooms, showers, food, stage, etc? Is there such thing as a BAD area of VIP?
We rolled in around noon last year and had no waiting anywhere. Any earlier? You might run into some lines.
No problem with the tent and the EZ Up in VIP.. The best place to camp in VIP? If you are staying in the tent section you will not be far from the bathrooms, showers and the food tent.
Did you think you were going to sit on the stage? ??? Sorry to disappoint..
Please don't get me wrong; I'm not complaining. In fact, the bleachers sound like the perfect resting place for me during the "big" shows so I can save my energy for other endeavors ;D

Howdy!
I've been stopping by this board occasionally and finally decided to register myself...
My boyfriend and I bought our VIP tickets the moment they went on sale. This will be our first Bonnaroo. We've been to both the Vegoose festivals and two Wakarusas, but this is by far the biggest yet!
Anyway, just wanted to say hello and thank you for all the wonderful information!
I hear you, acidcherry.. I've been to Summer Camp for four years and hit 10K Lakes last summer, but I'm thinking Bonnaroo will be a big change! I'm heading in with my brother.. hope to meet some of you folks tenting in VIP
On a side note, can anyone offer any insight into the contents of our "Commemorative Bonnaroo packages"? I'm excited to see what kind of schwag we get!
