Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
"The Green Lantern Corps is an interplanetary police force made up from pretty much every alien species in the universe (except Ewoks, because fuck those guys)."
I have two questions that I haven't been able to find the answers to on here.
1. How cold does it get at night? Will I be alright in the clothes that I wore during the day?
2. How easy is it to get in and out of Centeroo? Are there certain times during the day/night that there are less people trying to get in?
1. It probably won't be too cool in the evenings. At most a light jacket or hoodie should keep you warm enough.
2. It's pretty easy. If you walk towards the arch entrance and it looks like there are a ton of people trying to get in, I usually walk around to the other entrance; most times it's been worth the extra steps.

Throw a post out to the "This Tent" section of the board and somebody may be leaving early as well that can give you a ride to Nashville.
how easy is it to hitch a ride out of the roo before it ends? I have to be at work in NYC at noon on monday... Should I just cross my fingers and hope that I'll find somebody heading that way in time for me to get to work or should I book a bus ticket now? How easy is it to find rides?
First timer this year, really excited and put at ease thanks to inforoo! However, i have not quite figured out what to do with our situation.
As of now, our group of 4 (taking one car) plan on coming down from Chicago early Wednesday and arriving during the day, mostly to avoid the big traffic problems thursday. Unfortunately, our hotel reservations (which include a few others meeting us) don't start until Thursday night. While I have read standard GA campers can not leave and re-enter in vehicles during the week, would there be any way to camp just Wednesday night? For example using the 'day-parking' lot and walking a tent over to the TO area? or will this lot not be open yet/ not allow us to re-enter still once we move out thursday to the hotel? Some of us may even enjoy ditching the hotel altogether but the rest still need to drive there...
Sorry for the lengthy request, but any wisdom over this would really help us out!!

I would say your best option is to camp in the Walmart parking lot over night or check to see if the KOA campsite near by has any openings on Wednesday night.

Hi,
This will be my first time at bonnaroo. I'm familiar with festivals in general, I've been going to Reading & Glastonbury in the UK for 10+ years now.
Just a few questions:
What time does the music finish at night on the smaller stages? (I'd imagine it finishes around midnight on the main stages)
Also does the festival finish early on Sunday night? Is it worth leaving on Sunday night? (at Glastonbury there are small stages open until 3am on Sunday night and its a great end to the festival)
We will be driving from Tampa, I'm wondering if its worth leaving on Sunday night to make a start on the 12 hour journey home and stay in a hotel to break up the trip home.
Really looking forward to bonnaroo, pretty much guaranteed sun (I've been to enough muddy festivals) and being able to camp next to your car, I usually have to carry my tent / booze / stuff over a mile to to the camp site.

Music will be done by 11 or 12 Sunday night and they will close Centeroo (where the music venues are, not the camping area).

A lot of people leave Sunday night so it's certainly possible. I stay the night to get some good rest and save the cash .. but if you want a hot shower and bed .. I fully understand that. If the question is can you leave? Then yes you can if you're able to get out of the camping space (which you should be).
Hope this helps.
Welcome, btw. It's still early in the AM. I forgot my manners.

Hey guys, I'm new to all this and im a 20 year old traveler. I'm stopping by bonnaroo for the first time ever and im super excited! Can anyone help me with how things work if I go by myself? anyway i can meet up with people or just instructions? the actual site doesnt say much for loners. thank you
I just read that glowsticks aren't allowed! Is that true? I find it hard to believe that glowsticks and glow necklaces are non-existent at Bonnaroo!
It depends how picky and thorough security is at the Centeroo entrances. I've gotten in with some glow bracelets I took out of the tube and I've also had some taken away. Plenty of people have them still but glow toys (EL wire, etc) are best. Last longer anyway and don't leave trash or hurt people by hitting them in the head when thrown into the air.

To echo Ellie, I feel there are different categories of stuff on the "do not bring" list. There is stuff that is not allowed and there is stuff that is "not allowed". Glass is not allowed. Glow sticks are "not allowed". There is always a chance that they will get taken from you, but they aren't super hard on it, and I have known several people who have had them found by security and were let through anyway. Just don't be ridiculous with them.

Yep. My personal theory is the entrance at the arch is more anal about it and don't bring in a ton at once. I just stick with 1 tube of bracelets (15 in 1 tube). You can kinda linger around a bit and pick a line where you see the bag checker is more lax.
This whole camping space " in front of our car". I have a hatch back and was hoping to set up behind my car
First timer just curious
There's no issue with how you set up your tent and the direction your car faces as long as you remain within the marked off box. They're not strict on this so you can always get a extra couple of feet outside the line into the lane between the rows if needed.

This was not our experience last year. In fact, the horseback security came by and woke us up at 6am on Thursday morning and made us move our tent because our car was backed a few feet past the line. They said that there had to be a "fire lane" between every row of campsites. After that experience, we weren't about to test the waters later in the weekend.
EDIT: to add that these particular security members were not exactly nice...they never got off their horse, they just kept asking people that were awake around us if they knew us and knew where we were. They woke us up by being on horses and repeatedly asking people where we were. It was pretty annoying.

Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere, but I have read and searched and haven't found as much detail as I'd like to know.
How early do you need to get to a show to get a decent spot? (And what's your definition of a decent spot?) Obviously this will vary but just looking for some general guidelines. I've seen lots of posts where people are leaving one show early to get a good spot for one of their must-see's. But I don't want to leave earlier than I have to and miss out on good music. Thanks!

For what stage you can get a decent spot for most shows in the hour before the set starts. For most tent shows, you want to be there during the previous act, so you can move up into the tent when that act ends...otherwise you probably won't get in...the more popular the act and theater into the night it goes, the earlier you want to get there.

Get there by the end of the set of the band before and you generally should be OK. If you're trying to get on the rail or in the pit for a very popular show, you'll probably want to show up earlier than that. If you want to get halfway up at a tent, as long as you show up a few minutes early, you're probably good.

I don't have much detail, but I can say after my first Roo last year I was blown away by just how enormous the crowds are...it helps if there are bands playing back to back at a stage/tent that you wanna see, that way once one band is done you can move up in the crowd and sit down til the next band starts once people vacate from the last set.
Awesome. Thanks for the info...makes it a lot easier to work out a loose schedule. And I know I will be able to figure this out shortly after I get there but just curious..how long does it take to get in between all the stages/tents, accounting for the masses of folks? I've looked at the maps but haven't seen any with a scale.
