I think a personal shower would be more trouble than it's worth. And honestly, you won't be able to take a long shower with one as they have limited capacity. Maybe just shorten the shower routine for roo? Even taking a quick shower puts you in the 90th percentile of cleanliness!
1) Get a solar shower for like $25. 2) Take it to where people are having showers with the asphalt flooring. 3) Enjoy as you and a camp mate or two enjoy being one of the only people having a hot shower that day.
Seriously the best festival purchase I've ever made.
We saw neighbors have an inflatable pool they showered into. Everyone carried it over to the fence line and dumped it once everyone had showered.
just take a short piece of hose (~3 feet or so, like the kind that connects the hose wheel thing to spigot) a bar of soap, and a buddy to the sink area. hose yourself off, soap up, hose yourself off. this works just as well with a gallon jug or a bucket, but the hose makes it a bit easier. a few years ago some of the sinks even had threaded nozzles so you could actually screw the hose on there, but not anymore. it is super cold, but its a great way to wake up and shake off the hangover/haze/sleepiness from the night before. and even without a towel you will be dry pretty quickly. It is very refreshing.

I honestly don't know which I'd prefer to do. I feel like the camp shower would be a good investment, but I'm worried about water running into other people's campsites. I'd be pissed off if it happened to me, so I sure as hell don't want to put someone in that situation.

What is the best way to maintain power at 'Roo? I looked into getting a small gas generator. But I feel like it'd be too much of a hassle and probably really loud. I did some research and found people tend to use power inverters when camping. Would this be logical to use and what exactly is it?

then get a camp shower, fill it up at night before bed. put it on the hood/roof of your car. it will be nice and warm by the time you are ready to shower the next day. go over to the shower/water area. there is ususally a mist tent nearby. use the carabiner and stury rope you brought with you to attach your camp shower to one of the cross beams on the mist tent. boom, shower. any run off goes into the mud pit that is the mist tent, so no harm nowheres. skip the lines of people waiting for sinks/showers, etc.

What process do you go through to get tickets? I plan to buy pre sale tickets on Black Friday. Will they just become available at noon on 'Roo's website?

A group of us will be making our first trip to Bonnaroo this year and have a couple questions that we haven't been able to find the answer to. Are the tolls open 24 hours? We are coming down from Wisconsin and are debating if we should drive straight through Wednesday or get a hotel close and come early Thursday morning.
We are also kind of worried about the size of the camp site. We don't think we will be able to fit all of our stuff in an SUV, so we will probably be driving down in a Ford F150. Will that allow us enough room to camp? Thanks a lot!

Once the tolls open they are open 24 hours.
The Ford F150 will still leave you enough room to camp.

Solar shower is amazing. Best roo investment I've ever made.

I don't mind the $7 showers too much, after the fact anyway, but I like the solar bags, too. I have a Coleman that is probably like 5 gallons and that is actually a surprising amount of water. Just do a quick rinse, shut the water off, lather up however you like, and you'll still have plenty of hot water to rinse off completely, and enough for a second person if you are both mindful of your water usage. If you fill it the night before and leave it exposed, say on the roof or trunk of your car, it will be plenty hot enough by the time you are ready for it. I was skeptical at first but highly impressed when I tried it.
The roo website says you can bring "a small bottle of propane or charcoal" only if you have a grill. Is a standard 20lb tank acceptable, or will they only let in the really small tanks that are used with camp stoves?

I know you can bring the bigger one if you are doing RV camping.
The GA restrictions are for no more then two 5-gallon tanks. To be honest, I bet you could get away with a 20lb tank but I'd just get a couple of the small ones. It will be less stress and take up less room.
Hey does anyone have a good cool mens shade hat they would recommend? Been looking at The North Face Horizon Breeze Brimmer Hat. Wasnt sure if someone has a hat they swear by or anything.

Hi, I'm a first time Bonnaroovian and I was wondering, would I be able to bring firewood to the farm to burn in a grill? Or will I be limited to charcoal?

Since they don't want anyone making fires directly on the ground, they may say no to firewood to avoid the risk, but I'm not 100% sure. I've read some security aren't up to speed sometimes and take away charcoal too occasionally. To make sure you don't get anything confiscated/thrown out and possibly take up a little less packing space too, you could bring a propane grill or stove.
Maybe others will chime in soon and say otherwise, but I always bring a portable propane stove and small propane cylinders with no issues. If you decide on the propane route and want to save money, you may even be able to find 1 on your local Craigslist for cheaper than new.

If you have time for a fire, you aren't doing it right. I would even suggest no grills, because its a pain around that many people and the heat of middle Tennessee. Seriously tho, don't bother with trying to have a fire.

Do yourself a favor and just bring crash and hit up the food trucks. You'll thank me later for the less stress you add to yourself for your first roo.

Completely agree with this. Wait until your second Roo to bring stoves/coffee pots/etc unless you have an experienced Roovian. Firewood is out of the question. Security is pretty tight when it comes to flammables and glass unless you really hide it well. Hiding the amount of firewood you need would be dang near impossible.
Yeah, open flame is a big no-no. Besides the fact that you could easily start the whole festival on fire with tents so close together, there is also the distinct possibility of someone falling into your fire. Plus, nobody wants to add a roaring fire to a ninety degree day.
I fully support the idea of hitting up the vendors and food trucks. I brought a stove and cooked my first year and never did again.

Oh, I didn't think about someone falling in! But everyone walking around drunk or on something, the flame would be scary. Yikes!! And the heat.. never thought of that either. I think someone posted in a similar thread last year that even the citronella candles they brought, they were asked to put the flames out.
I thought about bringing a stove last year and I'm glad I didn't. My neighbors all had one but never used theirs either. That's just a guaranteed walked back to camp. you miss shows or you're tired and all that extra walking just isn't worth it. Plus the food at roo isn't like your normal carnival food -- it's delicious!!!!

I'm only planning on using the stove for morning stuff like bacon, pancakes, coffee, and eggs. I can't imagine trying to operate a stove at 3am coming back from a LN show. There is time for Spicy Pie and time for mimosas and bacon.

I'm bringing poptarts. I can't cook so let's be honest.. the stove thing was never going to happen for me.
