Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I tried the Trail-sling 2 years ago. It worked O.K. for the first few hours. As I become increasingly inebriated throughout the day, the chair became a nightmare. If we switched stages, I had an increasingly difficult time setting it up. Once it was set up, unless I sat perfectly, it kept tipping over. I really wanted to like it (because it was so small folded up) but it isn't worth it if you're not perfectly sober. Not recommended.
Last year, I went with the Kelsyus back-pack chair that was mentioned earlier. Oh my. Comfortable chair, portable (as a backpack, though), easy to set up, sturdy, low to the ground, has a drink-holder, etc. The attachable shade thingy (that was shown earlier) is very nice for the campsite - don't take it into the show, though. This is a great chair that you can use at your campsite as well as at the shows. Highly, highly recommended.
I tried on the campmor backpack/chair and Sam's and it fit like a glove. I am for sure getting one of those to enhance my Bonnaroo experience. They even make one like that that has a footrest built in.
Oh, yeah I can reall see me trying to get in and out of one of those 'lil sling things with these old bones without falling on my ass both trying to get in AND out of it. LOL
Those sturdy wooden handles will go a long way toward keeping me steady (in case I get a little something something on board) for the festivities!
Oh man, I just got to be a Swamp Butt, I'm on my way now.
I was reading the 2007 Info Guide the other day...
Do they enforce the "portable chairs no more than 1 foot off the ground" rule that is mentioned? I didn't know if that meant the entire chair couldn't be taller than 1 foot, which seems to greatly limit the chairs you can bring into Centeroo.

Thanks.
im not sure if they enforce it, but it really sucks when your sitting on the grass and some guy/gal comes along with there high up chair. really ruins the vibe..

Last year on Sunday we all brought chairs into Centeroo and camped out in front of the What Stage. People would come by and give us free beer and other stuff just to sit down for a few moments.

Even one of those chairs that sits right on the ground, like a stadium chair, has a backrest that is taller than 12 inches. I read that to mean the chair seat should not be over 12 inches off the ground. This would include the backpack/chair and other low slung beach type chairs that just get your butt off the ground a couple of inches or so.
I finally found the perfect stool for me. I found it at the Bass Pro Shops in the hunting section under hunting accessories/seats & chairs. Only 2.5 lbs Sorry, the url is longer than a football field. www.basspro.com/

www.tinyurl.com will convert any long url into one about 20 characters long.
I just bought one of these well it doesnt look exactly like it but same concept from target for 15 bucks.
Trust me you do not want to carry this around for the shows. It comes in a bag with a handle for a reason. Its pretty heavy.
PERFECT for camping actually we will all be buying one for the campsite
They even have a model with a shaded hood
I currently use mine to take up to the park on my lunch break to take a nap

yeah, maybe something that would have my ass a 1.5 to 2 feet off the ground with some sort of back support would be nice. I plan on standing for the shows, it's just nice to be able to sit back and relax while waiting. So far I like this one the best
I feel like this would be awesome for the campsite, when you want to kick back, but there is no way I am carrying something that big around.... I like the Crazy creek best out of these so far.

The great thing about the Crazy Creeks is that they're lightweight. We got these from campmor because they have a sleeve for a water bottle and a pocket.

i can attest that i have a broken one from last summer, lasted nearly 3 festies.... however, i'm sure it can last a little longer, as some of the guys i camp with are lil rough on the camp furniture...
Princess, I saw that chair at Target and considered it but it seemed too heavy to carry around all day. If I was you I'd find out what it weighs or go to a store and try before you buy
That chair is not very heavy. Because it's a backpack, it stays out of your way when walking and you don't notice it. REI usually has these in stock if you want to try it out. I like it because it is super lazy/loungy.
Well, when they say 250 weight max, they're not kidding. Broke mine first time in it. They don't make anything for people 6'4" 260. It was comfortable the fifteen minutes I was in it. ;D
I just left Sports Authority, they had a sale that all Folding sportsauthority logo chais 4.99 each, I bought 3. came home, sat on them all.. and realized that someone replaced one of the chairs with a 40 dollar uber chair.
I'm a 300lb dude, the simple chairs are rated for 250. They were fine. dont worry about weight limit.

Well......I'm nowhere near 250, so I may buy that one. It looks to be the most convenient of all the outdoor chairs that could be brought into the stage areas. Since it can be converted into a backpack, I can get it up and out of the way, when the Police hit the stage, and breathing space will be at a premium. I don't want to be holding onto a chair during that time, for sure......

One better than the other? Anyone has these that they use and tell me if they are comfy while at centeroo sitting around? I heard it better to have somethign like this than to sit on the ground.
Go with the "Crazy Creek Multisports Chair". I bring this one into BWCA (Boundary Waters Canoe Area) wilderness each year and it does the trick. Comfortable even when sitting on a rock.

Those things are great! My gf and I always bring them to Bonnaroo!
We bought two of these and love them. They are very comfy and pack up really small. It takes a couple uses to figure out how to sit so they are comfy but once you do you'll love it.
