Does anyone have any recomondations for a comfortable, lightweight, portable chair or stool. Maybe something that you can carry over your shoulder or on your back.
I have two backpack chairs got at wally world. I think they were 10 bucks, low to the ground, comfy, neck pillow attached with velcro and a pocket. I would try wally world, target or the like. You may not see them until summer gets a little closer though.

This reminds me of going last year without a chair of any kind, and getting ripped off at the general store... $30 for a $10 walmart folding chair....
Well I vow to go back this year prepared!! Did a little research and lo and behold found what has to be the coolest, most portable folding chair out there:
Do most people take chairs to watch the bands? I thought I had read posts (and in looking at some of the pictures) that people mostly just stood or sacked out on the grass as not to have to lug chairs around?

Most people stand. If the weather is nice, then you can plop right on the grass, with or without a blanket... Its great.
If its muddy, a chair is a must. Or maybe one of those blankets that are waterproof on one side, but a muddy blanket would suck to carry around later.

I take a thin cotton blanket to lounge on while waiting for the bands and then usually stand and dance
I would like to maybe take a folding chair (preferably with legs) this year, but I really don't want anything too heavy. Any suggestions on something lightweight with a back and legs?

yeah, maybe something that would have my ass a 1.5 to 2 feet off the ground with some sort of back support would be nice. I plan on standing for the shows, it's just nice to be able to sit back and relax while waiting. So far I like this one the best

I feel like this would be awesome for the campsite, when you want to kick back, but there is no way I am carrying something that big around.... I like the Crazy creek best out of these so far.
its TINY, it will probably work but is going to take some getting used to. i'm 6'1 and about 200 lbs so i'm thinking about getting one of the target chairs for backup.
i will give them credit,it is very compact and very light.

I picked up a trail sling about 2 weeks ago from Campmor. Light and compact, but it takes a few minutes to set up. It's low to the ground, so if you've got knee problems, stay clear. Once you're in it though, it's a nice, comfy mini-hammock, evenly distributing your weight and letting you stretch out a bit.

I got one too. I like how small it is. It fits right into my camelback MULE perfectly, with room to spare for snacks and stuff. When I took it home and set it up, my wife had a good ole' time laughing her ass off at me. But she tried it and thought it was o.k. I'm 6' 2", so I had to hunker down to get into it and kinda' roll out of it. It's o.k., but I guess I need to get used to it. One thing I found was that I had a hard time situating myself on the top bar. It seemed a bit uncomfortable. I'll take it and try it out though.
