I bought one of these chairs from WallyWorld for less than $10. It's comfy to sit in and reclines but it's ackward when on your back.
This is exactly what I've been looking for. I love how it folds and stores to the size of a camelpack. Did someone say Target sells these or something similar??

I just bought the bottom one on REI the other day, but it hasn't arrived yet.
How exactly was the top one awkward on your back? Under $10 is an incredibly good deal on that seat! I think it retails for $35 or more.....
it's comfy as hell, can support my weight, and has an insulated can holder. it's a bit heavy for all day use, but i figure it will be key for watching shows at the main stage (im in vip, so its no trouble to get it / put it back at will)
alright so i got a few chairs, i got the trail sling from campmor.com and its really small and light, but a pain to set up, i got the kelsyus chair, and it is by far more comfy but it weighs alot and i already have a camelbak on.
so now it comes down to getting one of those stools, or getting a carzy creek, the pro's that the stool has is that it fits into my bag and it is off the ground, the crazy creek has back support.

Yeah, it weighs a bit more than I had expected, but I feel like I can still bring along my backpack (with camelback inside), along with all my other goodies. Of course, I only have to walk over from VIP.....
I'm thinking about the one on the bottom because it seems like it would be easier to carry with my camelback mule. I could just sling it over one shoulder.
last year we brought crazy creek chairs and they worked great! they have different sizes and its a back saver while waiting for shows. also it worked out well because they fold flat and fit between your cambak and back. it wasn't uncomfortable and it wasn't to bad walking around. we never took anyone out! ;D
Do the crazy creek!!! If you are a guy make sure you get the highback model, so much more confortable. I got mine off amazon with free shipping for 33 bucks. Even has a few pockets in the back. One for a big bottle of water, and one zipper pocket for "stuff"
I have both the Crazy Creek and the Kelsyus chairs. They both cost roughly the same and to me feel equally comfortable to sit in. The Crazy Creek ones are lighter and easier to carry however I find myself using the Kelsyus chairs more often at festivals because they sit off the ground and offer protection against water and mud which render the Crazy Creek chairs useless.

Yep I've used the Crazy Creek ones before and didn't really like them. I want to be up off the ground.

I agree, I like to be slightly off the ground. I've also looked at the kelsyus chairs, but I wondered if they would be so high backed that they bothered the people behind me. Also, does anyone that owns a kelsyus chair think that it would be plausible for me (a healthy 25 year old male) to carry a camelback mule and the kelsyus chair?
I have a Camelback HAWG, which is larger than a MULE, and have done festivals with that and a Kelsyus chair on my back. The chair is an extra 10 lbs on your back but it is very doable. I have even been forced to carry two chairs and the camelback for periods of time and have managed ok.
As for blocking the view of anyone behind you. The seat is only 6 inches or so off the ground, which is just high enough to keep it away from water or mud, and the back is about 2 feet high. I have not had any complaints from people sitting behind me.
I just remembered I got a couple of "Stadium seats" at a yard sale for a couple bucks a couple years ago. They're brand new and I've never used them but they might work for Roo. I've never really wanted a seat at Roo before but I may bring them along. I've tried one out and it's pretty comfy (a lot more comfy than it looks) and only weighs about 3lbs and is rated to 400lbs. No reclining but good back support.

Thanks!! I think I will go with the Kelsyus chair. It looks like the best bet!
This is a good thread.. unfortunately many of the links from last year no longer work.
Does anyone have an up to date list of who sells some of these things? Personally I'm interested in the walkstool for carrying and the blue one with the foot stool attached
I've used the tripod style seats for camping before and they work great. Looks like the Walkstools might be a bit larger and more comfortable. sweet!

I sat behind many people with the kelsys chairs and they did not block the view for me. Now they didn't have the shade canopies on them so I'm not sure about those though.
I tried using a cool little collapsible chair last year. It turned out to be such a pain in the ass that I scrapped the idea on the second day and opted for a rolled up blanket strapped to my camelbak. I'll do the same this year.
I guess I hadn't anticipated that I'd be standing a lot at the shows and I never stayed put long enough to benefit from the chair...whereas I could spread out the blanket and lay back or sit on it comfortably.

I just got a Kelsyus chair for a good deal and thought I should bump this thread. It shipped free and only took two days to get here. They also have some good deals on other chairs. tinyurl.com/6qr5r5
We took two last year and they stayed in the car the whole weekend. I am not sure why, but we just stuck with a blanket and didnt even bother with the chairs.
Thanks everyone for sharing links! We were fine with a blanket last year but I am concerned about rain this year, which is why I think I might want to bring a chair that can fit in my Camelbak or has its own kind of carrying case, that would keep me up off the ground. Standing all the time would suck.
